Well. I've painted a lot of dinos, maybe it's time to start a new thread. I just this week received Angie Rodrigues' new Gryposaurus, and was so inspired I painted it right away. Here it is, along with the Krentz Antediluvia Grypo and Captain Jack Sparrow, I reckon the scale is a bit off, but not too far.. Anyway, here they are:
I think it's a great sculpt especially considering the size, IMHO, and I really enjoyed painting it. Let's hope Angie continues to produce more dinos, and I should mention the folks at Shapeways have have been very professional and and helpful as well. Highly recommended on all counts.
She's been munching on fermented berriies, hence her slightly-glazed Lindsey Lohan look.
I believe that the bront will go on... but on DTF v2!

Hi Radman, nice work and it's good to see photo of Angie's Gryposaurus other than those hosted on shapeways. I guess that's the 1/75th version but still it seems bigger than the one by David Krentz. Only the dorsal spikes seem somewhat irregular, just like in her new Edmontosaurus.
Edit: Which won't prevent me from buying them, of course!

Thanks Helge! I had to resist the urge to do something fancy with the crest and the flap - the red paints were really crying out to me, but I opted to go with subtle colors and I'm happy with the result. The ornitho needs some work, though, I'll touch it up and repost it. BTW, it was interesting reading your bio - I also have the Was ist Was: Dinosaurier book, it's now somewhere in my son's messy bookcase. If I can find it, I'll post some pics of that too.
Okay, so here is the Max Salas Corythosaurus. Devil Hans is shown for scale. I'm on the fence about this guy,; does he suck or is it good? As always, your comments are welcome
I like the overall color scheme a lot, but I think the white on the face is too heavy. If you are looking to accentuate the crest you might want to use a different color... perhaps a yellow?
I hand-painted the undercoat of yellow, then, believe it or not, I used a plain old spray paint can, I think Krylon green enamel, to gently finish the top coat. Not sure if I'll do more that way, but that's the story. C Touching up was done by hand,

I should mention that the Corythosaurus scheme I was kinda copying is based on the picture in Larry Felder's "In the Presence of Dinosaurs", which every member of this forum should own anyway,

the cory looks good with the exception of the underbelly. the bright yellow with the patches of brown dont look natural. I would prolly go over the belly again with a dry brushing of the brown so it dosent look so blotchy. As for the other two if you where going for a nice retro look your spot on with the colors.

I own it, love it, and really should get around to sculpting every species in it.
I realized I never posted any pix of this guy apart from in the dio contest. This is a CM Studios resin Ceratosaurus, scale is ~1:35.

I haven't added any shiny finish like I did for the cory, but I'm not sure it needs it. Maybe just a little? I should probably put some clear nailpolish on the eyes and teeth to give them that "wet look".
The figure came without a base, so I made one out of sculpey, painted it in earthtones and stuck a pin it to match the hole in its foot so I can remove the figure if I want. I sprayed the base with hairspray to glue sand on it to give it some texture; a lot of this washed off during the rigorous water photo-sessions later, but it still looks okay IMHO.
I've only just seen this thread. These are gorgeous, Radman! My favourite here is your paintwork on Angie's Gryposaurus (by the by, I actually like the irregularity of the dorsal spines ). I also love your Krentz T.rex, which isn't pictured here.
