 1/30th T-rex now being cast
« Thread Started on Mar 6, 2012, 2:20am »

Finally got this project done over the weekend. It's completely different compared to version 1. The idea behind this one was to bring something more affordable in this scale. e jaw was sculpted fully open and the builder can choose open, closed, or anything in-between. This particular model's mouth is about halfway between the two. Hope you guys like it.

Nick

Last one, I promise. The bubble issue on the right foot and left inside knee have since been eliminated and castings are turning out perfect with very nice seams.

What is the "furry" large mammal on the website that will be "completed in late 2012"? What is the scale?

The scale on the large mammal is 1/10. I'm not allowed to spill the beans since it's, as of yet, an unpublished animal.

I appreciate the compliments. He was about a year-and-a-half project, taking 60-80 hours. The dynamic pose is to fit a larger, multi-dino diorama that he's part of, depicting the Edmontosaurus in the Denver Museum with the "bite" in its back. The Edmontosaurus will be done soon.

Getting there. The paint scheme is based on an African grey parrot. Still have lots to do.
