Start of My Collection (Lots of Pictures!) « Thread Started on Feb 9, 2012, 1:45am »
Ok, so I've been a huge fan of dinosaurs ever since I could walk. I had tons of dinosaur figures as a kid, and loved every minute playing with them and bashing them together
A couple years ago I started becoming aware of a world of accurate, realistic, awesome dinosaur figures. I loved everything I saw and even signed up here to look at all the pictures! I never did get started with a dinosaur collection though, because I felt so overwhelmed with where to start
But I decided to give it a go, and just started with making a list of all the best Tyrannosaurs that I liked and could afford, with Trex being my favorite since I could say its name
So, here's the start! To start off here's a couple Wild Safari figures that I picked up at Michaels (cheap with 40% coupon woo!) But I have $200 worth of stuff on the way that I'll post as I get them too! I do love taking pictures
Silly dinosaurs, they may be extinct by millenia by they have no problem attacking my wallet!

Welcome to the site and those are some great pictures you've taken. Hopefully someday you'll decided to take some dinosaurs outside and do some dioramas. Your story is similar to mine (and many of us) and my wallet has also been attacked quite frequently over the two years or so I've been doing this.

Received a bunch of packages in the mail today, and opened a couple
Schleich Allosaurus and Papo Parasaurolophus (yes I know they didn't live together but they were two I opened together and thought they looked cool 8D) Contemplating Prey by OmegaCharge, on Flickr
I have a tonnnnn more figures still to receive and to open! I think I'll add pics bit by bit, and then eventually show the collection once I get them all open
It's much fun! And I think I'll try my hand at outdoor pics soon when I get down to the park =)

Opened a box today that had my Papo Spinosaurus... only to find his arm was broken off =( I boxed him up and sent him back for a refund.. but the consolation was that this guy was in the box too:

Thank you!
Yes he's a fantastic figure Very very cool in hand. Also a huge huge improvement over any of the previous WS Rexes, as it seems all the new Wild Safari's are.
Inexpensive and definitely worth getting! He's going to be the dominant predator of my smaller scale collection
and a bonus pic, Parasaurolophus tried to steal some salad when I wasn't looking, but I think she's unaware of some approaching danger Untitled by OmegaCharge, on Flickr

Someone has excellent photography skill!!:) Dynamic angles, great lighting source and superb color contrast really brings out the best features of the dinosaur models.
I also concur with dinofan45 regarding the Safari T-rex- This happens to be the first picture that I have seen where the T-rex actually looks impressive!---Great job!!

Thank you!! I love photography; I've been experimenting with different things I try to make them look as good as possible and as cool as they are when you're seeing them in person
And thanks, haha! It really is a cool T-Rex for a smaller size! Looks fantastic with a lot of the smaller scale large herbivores!
But thank you again for the compliments guys it's much appreciated
I took some figures outside today to try my hand at outdoor stuff! I posted a thread in the Dioramas section
