Wow this last JFC is incredible, who else thinks its almost as good as the T-rex one? However, I didn't like it how that Allosaurus just bullied that Ceratosaurus around like that. I believe Ceratosaurus would have been a pretty good advesary. And the part about the Allosaurus specimen being larger then the T-rex...w/e....it was probably that his loooooooong tail made him 1 foot longer......big woop.....He didn't have the 1,000 lb head, 20,000 lb bite force, the bone crushing teeth, or the staggering 7 tons of weight. However, the Ceratosaurus, Allosaurus, and T-rex are my top favorite animals, so I'm happy I got to see them on JFC. :) Sorry for those who love other dinosaurs that might not be featured lol :/

I think I would have been happier if my favorite (Ceratosaurus) DIDN'T appear in it....it spent the majority of it's screentime getting creamed by various Allosaurus while the talking heads gleefully described just how badly overmatched it was...

I agree...it gets old how they put down other other animals by saying they are outclassed. Overpowered would have been much more plausible. ::)

;D Overpowered! The Ceratosaurus was so much faster and mobile then a T-Tex. It would have sliced and diced T-Rex. ;D

I sincerely like JFC,it's entertaining and the dinosaur restorations are quite good (the best so far: the T.Rex,the Deinonychus and the Stegosaurus)...Oh,and George Blasing is a nice guy, plus it's always good when they talk about how great T.Rex was ;D

The only things i don't like about this show are:

- when they say a certain dinosaur was "dumb" or "stupid"...Bah,how can they know for sure?! >:(
Then again,it's stupid to say an animal is stupid...Sorry for this badly-constructed sentence ::)

- why Ceratosaurus has to be mauled everytime he appears on screen? There's no love for the horned critter in this show, that's for sure :P

Anyway,i give JFC a solid 9 out of 10...For now, let's see what will happen in the next episodes (here in Italy only 6 eps have been broadcasted so far) ;)

All of them have been released in US as far as I know. Its out on dvd I think. Man, Italy is way behind schedule! ;D

Italy and Germany shall join once again to become the Axis Powers. Thus forcing the History channel to play JFC sooner! ;D

I agree Sid, poor Ceratosaurus was beat up by Allosaurus to many times. :( In reality, Ceratosaurus was around the same size as most Allosaurs, so it isn't fair to assume they were attacked and killed at every meet. ::)

Big Al was about the size of a Ceratosaurus. Although not fully grown, he was still threatened.

As for "allosaurus being about the same size as ceratosaurus":

;) Ceratosaurus was only about half the size of Allosaurus! ;)

That chart shows an average sized Ceratosaurus next to an above average sized Allosaurus,so it's not really a fair comparison between the two. There's one very important thing to remember when it comes to the information to be found on Wikipedia:When anyone can edit and add anything they want to the articles from their home computer, there is a good chance it will be based on their own misconceptions picked up from questionable information from TV shows like Jurassic Fight Club...

Allosaurus fragilis was usually at 27 to 30 feet, with some specimens (the ones once called Epanterias as well as those some call either Saurophaganax maximus or Allosaurus maximus) estimated to be 35 to 40 feet.

Ceratosaurus is usually around 20 feet with the largest specimens (C. dentisulcatus) estimated to be at 24 feet long,so while it would be half the size of those largest individual allosaur specimens,it was only slightly smaller than the average Allosaurus, not so completely overwhelmed as shown on that program.

Read the above post I put up about the sizes of Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus and, you'll see what I mean about it not being a fair comparison. The Allosaurus in that chart is sized up way past the average for that species.

OK then old geezer ( nice use of calling me a kid by the way), the average allosaurus would then be, if it were between 27 and 30 feet, about 29 feet long. You say the ceratosaurus was 20 feet long. That's a pretty big difference. I know it isn't as extreme as JFC, but saying ceratosaurus and allosaurus were the same size is pretty off... ;)

And it would also mean the size comparison picture I posted earlier is correct. :)

That chart makes the allosaur look to be about 35 feet long.

Same size?
Nope, still smaller,I just meant it's not as extreme as in Jurassic Fight Club.

It just so happens that Allosaurus was the favorite dinosaur of that show's creator,"Dinosaur George" Blasing. This goes a long way in explaining why the Allosaurus mopped the floor up with it's contemporary meat eater Ceratosaurus at every opportunity...though strangely,he had no problem with having the Allosaurus taken out repeatedly by opponents that were stuck in the mud....

:) Forget the chart. According to you the largest Allosaur was 40 feet long compared to 24 feet for the Ceratosaurus. That's almost twice as long. More important is the fact that the Allosaurus weighed at least 2 tons, compared with the Ceratosaurus which weighted 1 ton at the most. ;)

I'll have to agree on that one.

(The narrator on the show described Allosaurus as being more than twice the size and five times heavier than Ceratosaurus, which is an exaggeration...though in the animation,Ceratosaurus looked only marginally smaller than the Allosaurus...)

10 meters is 33 feet. That allosaurus on the chart is about two meters short. That is about the average for allosaurus. So the chart is right. ;D

That would make it about the size of the Allosaurus skeleton posed as if feeding from the remains of an Apatosaurus in the American Museum of Natural History, which is the largest one that can be positively identified as Allosaurus fragilis
