A new $1.1 billion Jurassic theme park called Restless Planet, is being built in Dubai. The park will feature 109 animatronic dinosaurs of over 40 different species in a 500,000 square foot (46,000 square metre) space.

This has been in the works for quite some time and I've heard a lot of diff stories about it...some of which are :

It will include herds of roaming dinosaurs , the dinos will be fully mobile, will include flying and sea-going reptiles...the only ones I can confirm are that the dinosaurs will be able to recognize colors, smell real, could be capable of motion, and are being built by Kokoro of Japan.

I heard about this. For such a big money project, that video promo rather dampens my expectations.

I believe Kokoro are handling the dinosaurs. They're good at what they do, but I think they'll need to seriously up their game. I'd like to see it, but I don't want to have to travel that far to see a bunch of wobbly glued to the floor animatronics.

The Walking With Dinosaurs touring show has set a new level, and Kokoro will at least have to match it if they want to impress anyone.

Well Kokoro did do 1/3 scale walking dinosaurs already if I remember correctly...and Disney has one as well now....if they can actually walk and move on their own I'll be super-impressed.

Most of the articles you find on the project are out-of-date...I'd like to hear more new info myself.

It says that video was added over a year ago...lol

That Rex and a similar Spino were displays to promote the park ...it's not known if they will be added to the attraction or not. :-/

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.

I could give you an entire herd of baby Dimetrodon using a few sheets of plastic and a bunch of iguana. They would look at least as realistic as that elasmosaurus in the animation ;) Altough I don't know what animal welfare would say.

And it would cost less than one billion dollars.
