Yes, please! ;D

We are moving, quite simply. So pack your things and fly! I don't think people are quite awake to this fact yet. The new forum is to be our new home, it is not a mere annex. ;D So please make a start towards it!

As I mentioned above, unfortunately this is going to be a manual move. While I could register a profile for each existing member on the new forum, it wouldn't be feasible, so I'll leave it up to you all to create your own profiles. We recommend picking the same username you have here, so we know who you are! We will of course be looking out for impersonators.

I'll be announcing this properly shortly, but there's nothing wrong with you all getting a head start ;)

I just registered as member #6....one question....can we possibly be credited with the same number of posts we already have (say get to set them ourselves one time only) so we're not all "newbies"?

It can certainly be done, but I'm thinking of treating the new forum as a fresh start. But if lots of people want it, I'll consider it :)

I would like to have my status transferred.

Also, love the new forum. However, can we still keep the old forum as an archive? There is so much valuable information here, it would be a tragedy to loose it all.

I think Adam is planning to do just that. :)

I really don't want to move...but I guess I don't have any choice as this old one will probably become abandoned over time.

I'd like my status transferred too.

The party has started over at dinotoyforum v2!
http://www.dinotoyblog.com/forum

Yes, I intend to retain this forum as an archive. I've already disabled registration here, so no new members will be joining. But I will keep it open for existing members to post for the time being.

With the exception of the members board and the feedback section, I've disabled the ability for members to create new threads. You should still be able to post in existing threads though :)

for me the new forum is not a problem at all!
and if the individual member star rating in the new forum will match what they are here, all is ok.
i'm gonna move my stuff there in a a couple of days.

will this old forum (when it's "locked") serve as a read-only place?

We I just got done packing up and moving so to speak. Transferred all my personal threads over and even re-started the nature photography thread. Personally I love the new forum and the fresh start.

I was expecting a certain amount of resistance to the move so I'm delighted to see people getting behind it with such enthusiasm :)

Any particular reason why posting has not been completely locked down yet? I am finding it a little time-consuming to check both forum's for new activity. Although, when posting is locked, would there be a way to keep the PM's open?

I have only one more suggestion: On the DTF banner here, you should put something like "Click here to go to our new forum!" and then have the banner link to the new forum.

I would like to have my post count moved as well. Helps the new guys know who they can ask for help and if your a seller how much you can trust them a bit.

I honestly dislike the idea of moving..but will anyway. So much to move over you know ? I imagine someone like Malcolm will have a had time moving everything..and all us art guys really.

I sympathise and appreciate that the situation isn't ideal. This forum will always remain open as an archive, however, so there is no obligation to move all our posts. I know that I don't intend to move all of mine!
