Any particular reason why posting has not been completely locked down yet? I am finding it a little time-consuming to check both forum's for new activity. Although, when posting is locked, would there be a way to keep the PM's open?

I have only one more suggestion: On the DTF banner here, you should put something like "Click here to go to our new forum!" and then have the banner link to the new forum.

I'm keeping this forum open for discussions like these, and to allow people to finish up ongoing discussions in due course. I'd like the whole transition to be as painless as possible and I don't wish to halt threads mid-discussion, or step on toes any more than I need to. :)

I can keep PM's open here if I decide to, and I'm in the process of updating banners and links here to the new forum :)

Thanks for your suggestions 8-)

I would like to have my post count moved as well. Helps the new guys know who they can ask for help and if your a seller how much you can trust them a bit.

I honestly dislike the idea of moving..but will anyway. So much to move over you know ? I imagine someone like Malcolm will have a had time moving everything..and all us art guys really.

I sympathize and appreciate that the situation isn't ideal. This forum will always remain open as an archive, however, so there is no obligation to move all our posts. I know that I don't intend to move all of mine!

I appreciate that. Though I'm thinking more of all the artwork I will have to move...it feels odd posting one reply after another with all of it since there was discussion between is all. I sort of live in a " rut ".. heh evolving is really a pain. ;D

I like the email notification I get on the new site when sends a message..never did that before for me.

There does seem to be a bit of a lag or loading time when posting a lot of pics of viewing them...this site worked a lot faster it seems.

What I'm hoping to do with my threads is not to move them at all, but simply link back to all the old stuff here. :)

The lag is because it is automatically resizing large images. Images 800px wide/high or less should not cause the lag. :)

Looks cool, I guess I better start packing! :D Do we still post images and such in the same way? And I'd like to keep my number of posts and member status as well please (if at all possible). ;)

Yes, the new forum uses the same BB code. So posts can be copy-pasted to the new forum if you wish.

Status request duly noted :)

I'm going to wait a little and try to do this in bulk...

In the 'My Messages' menu. There's also a PM option on individual profile pages.

I'm sad to see this forum go...

It seems like just yesterday that you were talking with Tomhet at Dinoworld about making forums for your blog. Where has the time gone?

I know! It's funny to look back with hindsight. You may remember, back in the old days, when I first began to have visions of an extensive open dinosaur toy community, I originally suggested to the Dinoworld admin that I co-run and 'rebrand' their forum. I didn't see the point in creating a competitor forum and a few tweaks would have improved their set up for the better. But my suggestion was met with little enthusiasm, which I suppose is understandable, and that was their prerogative of course. If Dinoworld had accepted my proposal, I wonder how it might have been. Would the DTF exist as we know it?

The growth of the DTF over the last five years has convinced me I made the right decision to create a new forum. However, I'm still sad that Tomhet, who was instrumental in setting up the DTF and DTB, was unable to stick around. I'd love to see him take an active role again, maybe the V2 forum could be a good opportunity. I must drop him an email :)

And remember, this V1 forum will still be around as an archive :)

Thanks for the heads-up in my email, Dr. Adam. I think I'm all registered now in Version 2. I know I at least figured out my profile info! ;D
