Finally, I got around to rounding up my ungulate herd! ;D Besides dinosaurs, I also like to collect ungulate figures. My favorite group are the antelopes, I just think they are majestic and elegant animals! ;D Here they are, the thundering herd! Papo's 2009 pair of exquisite figure: Kudu and Gnu ( wildebeest) A pair of old Gnu figures from Safari and Bully... ...and a mother and calf Gnu from Schleich A pair of older, retired Kudu from Safari Antelopes from Bullyland, I think they are both retired. Arabian Oryx and Pronghorn antelope from Safari Retired Oryx from Safari I believe these guys are from Schleich From Noah's Pals, Nyala and smaller antelope also from Noah's Pals, a pair of Sable antelope and small forest antelope A pair of antelope from KMI (?) Two Ibex mom and calf tommies An orphaned oryx calf from the Vanishing line of animals from Safari, long retired The two prehistoric mammals, not complete without them! ;D The lovely Syntetoceras... and a pair of Megaloceros ( don't call them elk! Sbell will be mad! ;D) from Bullyland And here we have the Okapis! I just love them! Not antelope, but the only living relative of the giraffe A pair from Schleich, very well made. and the Safari ones Papo have a new 2009 Okapi that looks amazing A mountain goat from Safari Various small, bin item figures and the entire herd ;D Here we have the other animals ;D That's it! My non-dinosaur fauna collection ;D Sadly, I don't have any of the Kaiyodos figures Till next time ;D

All right, let's see if I can do this: I really like the Papo Kudu--I hear it's much bigger than the old Schleichs. I actually just sold off my old Schleich Wildebeest, and turned around and bough the new one--much better. Nice Kudu--I have one for sale if you need a third one! I've never been certain what the small antelope is supposed to be; the bigger one is a Sassaby; there is a calf as well, and all three are retired. The oryx& pronghorn are great examples of renewed excellence from Safari Your retired Safari Oryx are actually Schleichs Those are Schleich Roebuck and Chamois (both are re-issued versions) Noah's Pals have apparently been subsumed by Schleich; that's why we have not seen anything after the release in the first year--it was supposed to be a new alphabet of animals every year (I really like their tiny Jackals and Kinkajous). And the smaller ones are Impala. The small forest antelope are Giant Muntjacs KMI is probably old K & M International--better known now as Wild Republic The Ibex and Tommies are Schleich What, no giant Vanishing Wild adult Oryx?! ;D I just never got into those. Where on earth did you get the Synthetoceras? And where is the Starlux one? And where is the Starlux Megaloceros? Or the small FameMaster one? I love Okapis--that Safari one was one of their first really decent figures (~2001). But the Schleich blows it away. And I am thinking the new Papo one will be even better. So you have the Safari Mountain goat? No Schleich one? And what about their Bighorn Sheep? 3 of your small figures are K&M; two are classic, frequently redone China figures You don't have enough hyenas (at least get the Safari one, the Papo one looks...odd) Ditto for the Safari Cape Buffalo. Did I leave enough comments? ;D You should be posting on the Laughing Giraffe forum as well--they are big on animal figures (especially Schleich--as well as Playmobil).

Wow So do you did all from memory or do you have a database? ;D Thanks for identifying them all ;D Ah, the most elusive Starlux mammals I don't have many of them, not a single Syntheto, they are just wayyyyy to expensive right now I think I have the Fame Master one in my prehistoric mammal thread. As for the hyenas, I like them ;D I have one but I converted it to look prehistoric ;D And yes, the new Papo look like a characted from the Lion King ;D

I'll probably wiond up with the Papo hyena, if only because I must have every hyena--I even have a mysterious Bullyland one, and a strange Mexican Riccolino one.

Incredible! Its giving those Sauropods a run for their money. Don't worry, I bet if you rounded up those into one they wouldn't even weigh as much as one Sauropod. ;D That is if you exclude the Hippo and Rhinoceros. Mammals aren't my bit, but it is indeed nice.

Wow, nice! I was thinking of adding some Safari and Papo wildlife to my inventory, and these pictures are just about all the persuasion I need. Any specific suggestions in PMs are always welcome, of course.
Look how depressed the gnu looks, as if it's aware of the superior Papo version lingering just above. lol.

I don't know anyone out there who makes a big, good eland figure Yah, those elands are as big as horse! If anyone did, it would have been Starlux. And good luck getting those. Alas Starlux never produced any eland, and Starlux animals are not as big as Schleich, Papo and safari of course... In plastic, Britains produced a good eland but I think the best is the Clairet one( a 50's french company) In Holowcast, Britains produced one but Blancherie Frères created two perfect beauties. In Composite material, the German Lineol produced a big and wonderful eland... I don't have to go to work this week-end so I will post pics of some fabulous antelopes and okapis who are living with me.

I like the antelopes, just not enough to pursue them.

Thank to your wonderful photos, I am inspired to put on my camouflage outfit and go hunt those fabulous figures ;D Starlux also produced these ones I forgot yesterday. STARLUX : The gnu and the bubale caama About Starlux I also missed the very rare Jentink's duiker, Arabian oryx and the extremely rare Sable antelope One day they will be mine... Just need to find them when my banker is looking elsewhere ;D If I can help you to track some of them in the european savannah, I will do it with pleasure.
