Well, the Brach looks good enough to "die for." If its larger than the old one, it will be a "grand-slam homerun." It looks like the BEST PVC sauropod done by any company to date. A very, very life-like pose, too!

The WS critters, well, they need to be seen more closely - both the Acro and Cerato poses look like they are take-offs on the 2011 TRex pose, more or less - better than tripods though! Both look like they will be a "collectable must."

The Vagaceratops begs one question - WHY? WHY? Forget about the dumpy pose (based on the one photo) - just WHY?

I mean, we have Diabloceratops, Kosmoceratops, Medusaceratops ... and here they pick something that looks like a misshapen Chasmosaurus minus a few of the frill horns.

WHY SAFARI? With so many new, cool-looking ceratopsians, did you choose such a non-descript one?

Sbell? Can you put in a good word for the above-listed freakishly adorned Ceratopsians for Carnegie 2013?

Dracorex - I really reserve judgment til better photos come along.

Coooooooooooooooool. 8-) Another yet-to-be-seen Carnegie. The Brachio. looks amazing and the fossil reproductions might be fun too...

Those are some sweet skulls 8-)

Brachiosaurus-The Brachiosaurus looks like it will make a great companion piece for the Carnegie Diplodocus---similar colour, and natural movement defines both pieces

Dracorex- Cool stride, we still need a closeup---it's the exact picture from the Safari booth

Vagaceratops- Its "dumpy" charm has convinced me to buy it...It will be the only mass-produced Vagaceratops in the market, now and forever. Plus, I love ceratopsians. However, The WS Triceratops had a better pose and more refined colours.

Acro- The color looks nice, semi-dynamic movement going on---however, we need more pictures

Cerato- Looks a bit old school and dull. I think I'll pass. I'm waiting for Papo... ;)

So what is the scale of the Brachiosaurus? It looks like that says 1:50 in the image, which would be disappointing. We already have a good 1:50 scale Brach from Safari! Really hoping they made it 1:40. Can anyone confirm?

FINALLY!!!!

What can I say. The Brachio looks amazing for sure, definitely one of my first picks for 2012. The Safari ones are cool too, but I expected more color on those dinos, specially on the ceratopsian.

Thanks a lot for posting it, the lack of photos was already driving me crazy.

The sculptural style - especially on the Ceratosaurus - strongly resembles the Safari Tyrannosaurus of 2011, so I think it's fair to say they're using the same artist. However, what these little images fail to convey is the detail in the sculpts. The detailed bumps and scutes in the texture work looks a bit like the Favorite soft models, but of course, they're wearing brighter colors. The Vagaceratops and Acrocanthosaurus in particular are not done much justice in these images.

OK, then I'll wait for better pics before giving any opinion. BUT, so far I'm loving that Brachi! I thought it was confirmed a while back by MightyJPTrex that it was 1/40 scale. I don't see any number on that pic that looks like a scale number. The number I do see seems to refer to the size in inches, but I can't make it out.

Thanks for taking the time, Chris and sharing with us!

Sorry about the pics being so small..it's the best I could do. If I try to go closer they blur every time. There is detail there..the Acro is the hardest to see..the white of the head blends in with the background of the pic. I'm just more annoyed with the poses really..but I've fixed past pieces with a hairdryer..hopefully I can the same with these.

The Brachio says 1:50 and is 21.9" long. Shame it wasn't 1/40 but I'll live. ;D

See my post above for the size. ;D

Glad to have helped out.

There is a bit here in Randy's article that is interesting and may help us figure out the new theropod too.

He says, " Carnegie proposes the figures to be released each year. There is a criterion for a dinosaur becoming a Carnegie figure. It must be reconstructed from fossil finds that include a majority of features and preferably a range of individuals ( no species based solely on teeth or vertebrae ) . Specimens from the museum are favored. "

Hey, I brought those up years ago. I had no idea what they were up to (maybe they were working on Mojoceratops, and got caught when the majority opinion is that it is a junior synonym--so they went with another similar chasmosaurine). Can't really say, as I didn't have anything to do with it.

@ Chris: Well, that still sounds pretty BIG! That's nearly as long as their new Dippy at 22 inches! The old Carnegie Brachi, according to TGFToys, is 14" tall and 11" long. (Do they have that backwards?) And it's suppose to be 1/40 scale. Hmm?

I do wonder why Carnegie is starting to use different scale sizes. They were always known for their 1/40 scale figures (except for a few of the smaller prehistoric animals they made at larger scales). Maybe they're going to try and start keeping all their dinos around a similar size, so they'll all be big and mean looking to try and spike the youth sales. I mean, if they made their Miragaia at 1/40, it definitely wouldn't have looked as impressive. Sounds plausible. Kids like 'em big -- bigger is better! And if parents can buy a cool looking big Carnegie dino and probably pay less than a fugly big Schleich dino, then...

With the new prehistoric mammal skulls toob, maybe there will be plans to do matching fleshed-out mammals in upcoming years? *hopes*

I like the head on the vagecaratops, not crazy about the body though. Maybe it will look better from another angle. The brachi looks awesome. 21 inches is still huge, and bigger than the previous brachi. The others I won't comment on yet, except to say I don't think I will be impressed with the ceraosaurus, even with better pics.

The ad says the Brachio is 1:50 and 21.9" , I figure that's length since the neck is lowered on this one and raised on the older one.

A tiny bit disappointed that the Diplo was 1/40 and this one will be 1/50.

Oh yeah, Blade, I also think the 21.9" is the length of this new one. I just wasn't sure about the dimensions of their older Brachi that TGFToys had listed. I have their old Brachi, but it's in a case and I'm too lazy to get to it, heh, heh! (Have to remove too many dinos on top of it!)

I'm also really liking this beautiful movement Forest has incorporated in it. And the paint job looks nice too. Looks like it's gonna be a very impressive figure!

edit and added: Well, even though their Dippy is listed at 1/40, it really doesn't seem like it's a representation of the larger sized Diplos. It doesn't even seem like it's representing an average full size adult. I mean, if this new Brachi is suppose to be at 1/50 and is 21.9" long and the Dippy is only a fraction of an inch longer and is suppose to be at 1/40, then that doesn't seem quite right, because Diplos for the most part are much longer than Brachis, right?

Well, even with a lowered neck 22" long is impressive! In any event, the Tamiya Brach is a good representation of an uber-large specimen ... Put those two together with a WS Brach and it will be quite a herd!

Are they counting the curled tail of the Diplo ? It has a few inches there curled up.

What is the length of an adult diplo supposed to be, minus the tail? (since we dont really know how long the tail was)

I don't have it in front of me, but I think it is 28 in long, tail uncurled.
