Hi, I'm knew to the forum, but share your passions for Dinosaur
Replicas. I wanted to get a critique on a piece of Art, I whipped up-a Apatosaurus. My favorite Dino of all time. Don't hold back.
Curious to see what you think, and if you think this would be a decent Replica.

Thanks in advance

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.

Welcome Apatos. Nicely stylized -I really like it.

by the way - you had used html code in your post which the forum doesn't recognise so your pic wasn't showing, this forum uses bbcode (bulletin board code) so I modified your post. Cheers,

On a side note, does anybody know why the Apatosaurus' neck is portrayed with protruding neck vertebrae? Is is just because the new paleoartists prefer skinny dinosaurs? ???

Probably, also the assumption that a huge animal would have benefit from being less fat, and therefore less heavy and more mobile.

The drawing looks good, though a little too stylized to give a scientific critique. The only thing I'd reccomend is to ditch all but the big claw on the front feet--neosauropods didn't have any others (in fact titanosaurs didn't have any fingers at all).
