They're not bad though..I like Luis Rey's Dinos for instance..I guess it just looks like so much of the same color in one area..lol Dino-day at the beach I guess eh ? ;D

My newest custom arrived last week, courtesy of Dinonikes; the brilliant walking Quetzalcoatlus, sculpted by Forum member Bat, produced and lovingly painted by Faunacast's Malcolm, and now owned by me!

A simple yet striking paint scheme, a wonderful stalking pose, a reasonable price tag, this is a must-have for all pterosaur fans. Lastly, here it is arguing with the CollectA Hatzegopteryx over a spider:

The material is relatively pliable, so all kinds of critters could be stuck in its mouth.

P.S.: Also got the very cool Brontotherium, should have pix up within the next few days. ;D

Very nice! Do I see a strong Mark Witton influence there? ;D

As promised, here is Malcolm's 1:40 Brontotherium in all its grey glory:

This is a really beautiful sculpt, and I love that Mac is keeping the 1:40 scale for everything; really nice to compare all the critters that way. The texture and detail on this guy are wonderful and my pictures don't really do it justice. This is probably the only readily available Bronto figure out there - apart from the Sean Cooper pair (which I will now have to get and paint just to keep this gal company ::) ;D), although many other models exist, they're just difficult to get, e.g. Max Salas. Anyway, another great addition to my collection, custom painted by Dinonikes, and two thumbs up.
Here it is with some contemporaries to get an idea of its size:

A very special package arrived last Saturday. So special that it warranted the mirror display case on top of the piano in the living room.

Close-ups will follow tomorrow, promise!

:) Oh, it looks beautiful! Is it a Styracosaurus?
And is that Hadrosaur on the JVC one of Angie's Brachylophos??

Yes on both, mein Freund!
I got Jon Rader's Styracosaurus kit a while back, and he recommended John Naja to do a build-up for it. I sent it to him, and he wanted to change it up a bit, from the somewhat austere look of the original kit, to a more lush environment. I was quick to agree. The well-packaged finished product arrived last week, and John did an outstanding job.
Just out of the box:

A frame was included to keep everything in place.

The detail on this kit is astounding. Many little touches like the purple berries

The leaf litter and the vines on the built-from-scratch tree

The beautiful little plants

Actually, one branch broke, but a quick fix with superglue put it right back in place. Oh, and of course the dino itself:

A nice natural grey-green, with a burst of color on the frill.

The final product:

Thank you, John and Jon, for an amazing piece of art!

Thank you Christian, it was my pleasure to build it for you, though I must admit I'm quite embarassed that the d**n thing didn't arrive in one piece, LOL! I'm sorry about that, I'll be more careful in the future. I absolutely love that display case!

Looks great to me ! I love all the little details you put into the plants on the bases. :)

Don't be so hard on yourself there John...artists always see the defects in their own work..it's how we improve. Besides rum shouldn't be drank in anger.. ;D

Awesome build-up!!!
I love the little purple berries ;D.

The Styraco looks rather small. Which scale is it?

1:35, according to John. :) I thought I remembered it was 1:50, but I was clearly mistaken.

Absolutely beautiful!

The scale is 1/35, I initially thought that the kit was undersized, but a couple of quick measurements (I also build 1/35 armor) showed that Jon was top dead center accurate with the scale. Styracosaurus was really not that big as far as Dinos go.

Hi Boki, glad you and everyone else liked it. I am very happy with this piece myself, and I highly recommend John, for painting a figure or creating a custom base for you, or anyone else that may be interested. John does great work for a VERY reasonable price; PM me for contact info.
