I saw the Yinlong on dA. :) Will you be working on making the background mountains paler as you hinted at?

Hmm... I don´t know yet. Do you think it would look better with a paler or a darker background? ??? I´m open to suggestions.

By the way, here is the Spino piece finished. My first experiment with water reflections also, I´m reasonably happy and proud of it. Need to get better, though...

Thanks again. ;) I also think this is one of my best, and its funny because its not a dino I´m specially fond of. I dont know if I´ll even be able to create something like this anytime soon...

Well, those are two of my most advanced projects: an updated Cryolophosaurus and a Troodon. I´ll be able to finish the former tonight, or maybe tomorrow. No backgrounds planned for those since I´m a bit tired after finishing all those pieces in the last week....maybe I´ll add something later though.

Thanks. ;) The colors are slightly based on the okapi, as I was suggested here: http://durbed.deviantart.com/gallery/34501348?offset=24#/d48yfn6

I think its looking rather promising, I think it might be one of my best deinonychosaurs.

Meanwhile...here is the finished Cryolophosaurus :

I'm not sure about the fur, but I guess it's in the realm of plausibility. My question would be: why the snowscape?

Yeah I'm pretty sure Antarctica wasn't like it is now during the early Jurassic. But either way cool colors.

how did u do the reflection in the water for the spino one? It came out really nice.

Its rather speculative, but I remember reading somewhere that in coastal areas of the Antarctica the temperature probably dropped considerably more and it could be snow for a few months of the year (Some study based on Jurassic air, I think.) Though most of the year it still was, well... a cool forest. But basically I think its a cool contrast with the animal.

I made the reflection duplicating the image in a different layer, then using it as a background and distorting and blending it with the water. Far from perfect but hey...glad you like it. The water itself looks a bit bland though, maybe I´ll update with more light reflections.

As for the fur, I think I´ve seen around way more fuzzy Cryos than scaly ones! This is quite conservative compared to Rey´s rendition, for example. And I think my original sketch was way too spiky. ;)

T. Rex test schemes for my next colored piece (I´ll probably use the bottom one, but changing the green for brown). I´m open to advices though.

Here is the Troodon finished. Sort of. I´ll probably add a background sooner or later.

Very pretty. I like the thick coat.

Regarding the Cryolophosaurus, I do think a background with a few trees would be better (much as I appreciate the 'contrast' idea...and the fact that a plain-ish background is much easier to do)...

Interesting addition of the 'saddle' feathers like in many galliformes.

Thanks! glad you can appreciate that..some things like all the detail on the vaned feathers is hard to tell in the final picture, is sort of frustrating...

Just noticed this needs an update! So...

New stuff. Beipiaosaurus:

Old stuff updated and painted, Dilophosaurus:

And a sketchy Microraptor that will be part of something bigger soon enough...
