Prompted by Gigantoigu...I mean DinoObcessed's posts, and the fact that I'm back home, I thought I'd share my most recent sculpture in production. Rhomaleosaurus!

It's sculpted in modeller's plasticine - forever malleable, and impossible (?) to paint. I just hope nobody picks them up or knocks them over while I am away... :-[

So as I was saying, the reason for plasticene is because they are not intended to be sculptures in their own right. I use them to help get my illustrations right - like so...

They get recycled...

Hey those sculpts are pretty nice. I've seen from pictures that Ely Kish and Charles Knight also created sculptures to help with their illustrations. It seems to help a lot with capturing light and shade as well as figuring out the perspective.

You should try working with other types of clay.. with a little more finishing, those could be really terrific. 8-)
