They're all brilliant, but oh, I love the Brachylophosaurus!

Many thanks, Niroot! :) I think Angie's Brachylophosaurus is a very elegant sculpt, it was actually one of my first shapeways models and it's a shame it took me more than one and a half year to finally paint it... :-/

Ah, the Guanlong is my favourite, as well. :) But the Gigantoraptor and Edmontosaurus come close, too. It's rather strange that the baseplates of all these have two holes for supporting clear acrylic rods which are completely unnecessary so I left these in the boxes.

Thinking of F.J. Strauß I should clarify that despite the pose it's not the same human figure in the pictures with the Gigantoraptor and the Spinosaurus, the one being 1:50 and the other 1:87 scale - otherwise it might look as if the Gigantoraptor was very small. His head gone? This reminds me of...

Thanks again, Helge! :)
For those who are wondering: Helge received this one broken from shapeways, the foot was broken off from the base and one finger was broken, too, after he received his replacement he sent the damaged one to me.

Colorata "Exhibition of the World's Largest Pterosaurs" 2007-2008 Quetzalcoatlus. I don't have the original base so I sculpeyed me a custom one. :)

Thanks for posting some more photos of the special Colorata Quetzal. :) :)

I see that I was not the only one enamored by that Quetzal figure. Spent more than I should have but I'm happy I did.

That has to be the finest Quetzalcoatlus I have ever seen. How wide is it from wing tip to wing tip?

It's 25.5 cm, so that would make ~ 1:40 for Q. northropi, or ~1;20 for the smaller species. It's a good bit smaller than the recent Schleich. And yes, it's a lovely model that may not be around long, so I had to splurge and get it from samsonchik. :P
It goes great with Dinonikes' walking Quetz, IMHO.

Glad to know, I wasn't the only one on the forum who "splurged". :) ;) ;D :)

Thanks, deanm, simon & Christian! :) Well, that's where I got mine, too. It was here within twelve days. I wanted to have it since I first saw Helge's photos of it - of course he has one with the original base but it really isn't too difficult to make a custom one. Especially for those who have the Colorata DX sharks and/or whales, the spare pegs of these fit perfectly. ;) I'm sure you won't be disappointed, it's my favourite vinyl figure of a pterosaur so far. Funny, isn't it, the seller must have sold at least six of these in the last two weeks.

HOLY COW!! Its HUGE! I didn't get one because I thought it was way too much for a small figure. I will pick one up from thatsamsonchick.

And I'll tell you something else - If Colorata were to even introduce a larger dino line - say 1:50 or even 1:40 scale - I think they would blow the competition out of the water, both with their sculpts and their fantastic paint jobs.

Sadly they only seem to make larger figures in single editions. They do so well in the miniature arena, I doubt they are gonna take such a big jump - or risk - any time soon ...

Here are the two together. You won't regret this purchase; I have the feeling that once these are sold out, they will never be seen again!

W.O.W.

:o :o :o

This will soar perfectly above my 1:50 scale Favorite, WS and Medium size Collecta menagerie!

I'll call it a 1:50 scale Hatzegopteryx (which may have very well been the same animal, given that their range was probably world-wide given their size and gliding ability ....)

Yes, simon, you should really get one as long as it's still available (unless you haven't already done so), it's just been relisted again. And just like Christian I believe once they're gone they will hardly be seen offered again.
