True. But there's also animals like giraffes- similar niche to a modern sauropod, or an Okapi. Those guys have some pretty flashy colors for mammals of theirs sizes. Zebras too.

However I too prefer my reconstructions of the sauropods at least pretty much on the drab side. Ceratopsians and Hadrosaurs I will give more color to.

You know, I don't think I have ever looked at someone else's paints and said basically they are just crap, or that they sucked hideously......If I have not liked something, I juast figure to each their own. I am frankly stunned that my painting Battat figures is under fire yet again. I know, there was much resistance to the idea from some last year when I started doing so, but I am still surprised. I have used the same colors, and technique on every repaint for two weeks, and all non Battat figs are "great", but apparently any and all Battat are horrible? Really? Maybe I am still fuzzy and weak from flu, so too sensitive, but geeze guys. I removed the horribly offensive pics, from all photo hosting sites too. I closed the photobucket account, I don't anticipate sharing anytime soon, so I won't need it. A nice welcome back to the forum thogh. WOW ! :-[

Bring them back, I want to see them! I was actually disappointed to see all the images removed from the various threads. I liked your Parasaurolophus. Having never owned a Battat I don't especially care if you paint them, modify them or blow them to smithereens.

Yeah seriously i said it on the other thread. When it all boils down they are your figures. Therefore you have every right to do with them whatever you like. I myself am another person who frankly doesn't care how "rare" or whatever a figure is. If its ugly to me I either customize it so I like it or I just don't bother getting it at all. I think your paintjobs are great. Don't let one person with a radical opinion totally control what you do.

^ Bummed that I missed the photos of your repaints

As for people hating based on what one decides to do with their figures, that's pretty nuts. I feel confident saying they probably looked great, as most of the work you do does. Paint all the dinos you want, of any type.

I will say if I bumped into, say, a triceratops, and it was running at me, I don't think I'd be overly concerned about it being pink and florescent green or some other crazy combination of colors if that was the case...I'd take the time laugh at it after I was up in a tree
