 Identification thread
« Thread Started on Jan 24, 2010, 5:10pm »

We are so many people around here, itīs in most cases easy to upload a dinosaur you donīt know much about yet and have it identified quite quickly.
Among the many threads in the category "Dinosaur Toys" are many ones concerning such unidentified dinosaurs. I would say letīs start this own thread for just idendifying figures. Itīs not necessary to open a new thread for each figure someone wants to have identified.
Agreed?

Hi

That's a very useful thread!

So, here I go! I don't have any info about this Diplodocus. I found it on internet, being sold. Does anyone know anything about it?

How about those Parasaurolophus

And this marine reptile... Plesio or Elasmo? Which company did it?

Great idea, Libra! ;D

OK, here are a couple I'd like to know more about...

The "Velociraptor" down in front center in these next three pics. The seller said it doesn't have anything written on it.

And, the T.rex with the yellow and black tiger stripes just above the Battat in the top left section of this pic below.

Thanks! 8-)

^ that brown and yellow rex in your last picture, is that a repainted battat? I like the colours. also, the rex in question looks really familiar but I can't remember - hopefully someone can help.
also also, I love that mystery velociraptor! when we find out what it is I'm getting one :P

"Mystery raptor" to me looks like one from Disneys dinosaur. I.ve not seen that figure before, but the shape and colors look right.

I think ccm is right. It looks an awful lot like the disney movie's velociraptors.

I think that Rex might be a Sega variant , but it's hard to tell..the body shape looks right. Any better pics ?

No clue about the Raptor but it does resemble a Disney one..maybe from a set only available in the park.

Is that a repainted battat rex or a new paint variation?

Yeah, sorry about the smallish pic of the Rexes. It's an old pic I had saved from eBay some time ago just because I liked that tiger-striped T.rex and was hoping one day to find out what it was.

That one Rex with the dark brownish/black coloration and a creamy/light yellowish striped under-belly and under-tail that's three down on the right does look a little "Battatish." Weren't there some very rare colorations of some the Battats? Hmmm???

About the "mystery raptor," the seller said it had no labeling on it anywhere. Wouldn't you think if it were Disney, they would have their logo plainly plastered for all to see, with their over-the-top marketing strategies?! LOL!! ::) ;)

^ I don't think so, and I am almost certain its Disney - I have a couple of Disney dinosaur figures where the only way you know its a Disney product is by the color/animal represented, and then in tiny type of the foot or something, Disney. I am betting it was part of a set of other dino figures, released at KB or something. I have a very nice Carnotaurus from a set like that.

That raptor is actually nicer looking then more common clunky looking fattened version that roared that they released.
