As for the Carnegie Apatosaurus, I would love to see a resculpt as well, but there's no telling how long that will take.

Plus the Spinosaurus and Diplodocus in 2008 and 2009
well we've seen two new resculpts already last year and this year. Brachiosaurus, Carnotourus, maybe safari will surprise us next year

It's entirely up to the creator I guess..lol Wu was fine with making newer versions to replace the older ones to reflect new ideas and the public's perception...they were much like software to him.

How long between the redo of the Diplo and this Brachio ? I would figure the same for an Apato ..unless they are planning a major redo.

Safari does seem to like to spread out the bigger pieces. So 4 years would make sense. Like I said unless they chuck it all in and do a MAJOR re-work of all the old pieces.

They need to tweak them for sure. I'd love to see a Quadrupedal pose of Parasaurolophus, feathered Velociraptors at a different scale, a new paint job and sculpt adjustment for the 2000 Triceratops, more Hadrosaurs, an Euoplocephalus sculpt at 1/40 scale, an adjustment to the Maiasaurs and a herd of Hypsilophodons at maybe 1:30 scale......

I read on here that they may be going to release all of the traditional models in new sculpts.

I can only dream though

I was told by Safari once they do plan to re-do all of them..but people love the classic versions so much it's hard to do. So I guess that's why they redo some on occasion and then just release new species as well.

How long ago was that? I think it'd be great if we got a re-do of the classic sculpts...and if they are going to do it all at once it may be next year because of the Carnegies 25th anniversary of the line.

That was last year.

It would cool if they did something major for the 25th Ann.

I think it is very possible they will. A redo of their least accurate models would be sufficient for me.

I am a Carnegie Nut!

I specifically mentioned the Stego, Allosaurus, Para and Acro think..the Stego and Brachio was my first Carnegies..I think I received them in the early 90's. So they certainly need more than retooling. lol

Because Safari doesn't make decisions about the Carnegie line, that's up to the Carnegie Museum. Safari produces/distributes the figures for them.
I know, we've never once on this board discussed how those two entities operate. ::)

Also, you have to consider the expense of creating an entire third line of figures made up entirely of ones that were retired--often due to inaccuracies, new information, or just poor/redone sculpts. I doubt the retro-loving collectors market as a subset of dino collectors is large enough to bear the cost (or, would be willing to pay the price for a more limited run).

I ment a line for the current ones, if they would to be replaced with updated sculpts. subjects in the line would be, the original Brachiosaurus, Allosaur faced Spinosaurus, Original Stegosaurus (if the rumors of it being replaced are true) and the original Triceratops and green T-Rex.

they wouldent have to keep them seperate from the updated ones, just put a mark on there tag that says it is a classic.

I think that'd be great.
