WARNING! CollectA (Procon) figures! Enter at your own risk! ;D
now that that's out of the way.......
Ok, so have I kept you all waiting long enough? ;D So, as I said before, I just got my two 2009 nigersaurus, the deluxe CollectA and WS. I got the CollectA from Mike (PT), just as sbell said ;D It is really interesting to see the two brand new figure side-by-side and also to compare how big the CollectA figure is by putting him next to the other sauropods.
The two figure are very close on their anatomical features: The head, the feet, the neural spines, and most of all the mouth. Of course the the size is difference between the two is huge. Comparing the figures, the WS one is very delicately detailed, it's texture are very fine and smooth. His neural spines are also very fine, almost like a zebra's mane! He also look "skinny" when compared to the CollectA figure ;D The skin in this figure is almost too stretched, not enough folds or loose skin. As for the feet, well it has 5 toe nails prominently showing, and yes, one of the leg is shorted. His pose is dynamic as if finding a clump of fern and is hurrying to get to it, mouth wide open ;D His eyes is a bit sunken.
Now, for the deluxe CollectA figure. He is big, with tail uncurled he measures around 12.5" but is you stretch his tail, he is a whopping 16" long!
Like most CollectA figure, this figure is very textured and stocky looking ;D
His pose is very calm, it looks like he just raised his head to check out something that caught his attention. Like the WS figure, his head is very well done. If you put the figures head side-by-side, you can see that they are very close. The big difference is that the WS figures eyes are a bit sunken and the CollectA one the opposite, just slightly protruding outwards. If you look at various skeletons, you can see that both figures are accurate.
The CollectA figure is stocky, I think it captures the proportion rather accurately. He has "wattle", folds of skin that is loose around the base of his head.
His neural spines are more pronounced than the WS, they are bigger and more spaced out. As for his toes, it's there. It's more covered by skin than the WS figure.
Overall, both figures are very well done. They both captured the species unique features that made it very different from any other sauropods.
So, there you have it. ;D I have limited the WS photo since it's been posted many times already. As a comparison, I took pictures of the CollectA figure next to others in my herd ;D
