Hmmm, that one is a good choice at a great price! Any reviews on it or the new Brachi?

I submitted the Brachiosaurus review to Dr. Smith, and we're letting him review the Liopleurodon, since he was consulted for the design of the figure. Might do my own review on Facebook a bit later.

Inventory Update 2010 Wild Safari Coelacanth Now in Stock More than the previous two newcomers, the Coelacanth's stock photo significantly obscures the beauty of this figure. I am very pleasantly surprised with the way it turned out. Nicely done, Safari! I'll add some photos shortly.

Man, I wish these safari figures would all come in at the same time! ;D But then there would be nothing left to look forward to! But three releases before the first month of the year is over is still pretty good.

Okay, I uploaded a few shots to the Facebook page. It is indeed a darker, more naturalistic color than the stock photo suggests. One thing the stock photos (and even my photos) fail to convey is the great dynamic posture, as you can see the critter twisting into a turn, properly angled fins and all. ;D

How big is it Dan? Do you have a pic of it with the schleich man to compare?

14.6 centimeters long. "Detailed Description" on the site usually tells you the dimensions of anything.

Inventory Update Now in Stock from Safari Ltd: 2010 Desert Tortoise 2010 Malayan Tapir Wild Safari Triceratops Whatever discrepancy in detail may have existed between Safari's and Papo's modern animals, it has all but vanished. The stock photos again fail to do justice. These two newcomers are absolutely gorgeous, right down to their shiny little eyes. Might have to snap off some photos later, if anyone's interested.

Those safari animals look great! I would have thought they were papos if I wasn't told otherwise The quickest way to tell is that they actually look like the animal they are meant to portray (a quick test--which hyena looks like one--the Papo or Safari?). And there is no smiley face on this one--as with their dinos, Papo spends way too much time on paint layers, and not enough time on making many of the figures look correct (no excuses for modern animals). Safari, on the other hand, kicks arse in all aspects (at least for the last 5 or so years). Plus they generally cost less.
