Looking for prehistoric mammal recommendations. There are a ton of mammoths and smilodons to choose from, and a paucity of everything else. So what do you recommend?

Well, I'd definitely say don't neglect the vintage lines--Marx's Megatherium, Mammoth, and Smilodon are all top notch, likewise the Invicta Mammoth and Glyptodon.
I'd love to hear more of people's recommendations, too.

Looking for prehistoric mammal recommendations. There are a ton of mammoths and smilodons to choose from, and a paucity of everything else. So what do you recommend? So what about t hem mammals? ;D I agree, lots of smilodon and Mammoth galore ;D But here are some that you should check out. there really are not that many collection: Bullyland: Some of the best collection produced. Sadly, most are now retired and out of production. You may still find them on ebay here and there. My collection is missing only that darn deinotherium! Schleich also release some nice figures. Unfortunately they did not continue the set. Here they are: Safari's WS line of prehistoric mammals. Another discontinued collection. The lovely arsinoitherium is now retired and hard to find. Like action figures? There is Tyco ;D Here is my completed set Feeling vintage? How about some Nabisco figures? They are lovely ;D Fan of WWPB? There is the AAA figures, truly a gem collection! Similar to AAA, but cheaper version is Chick Yuet. Now this set is hard to find ;D Feeling very ambitious? Try locating the truly wonderful PlayVision set of large and small figures ;D My collection:Large set Small set Bright and colorful? We got it! The Tootsie collection ;D those are my favorites and the crown jewel of my prehistoric mammal collection. Hope that helps ;D Good luck!

Yeah boki, I had the entire Bullyland mammal line, then sold it off, then re-assembled it - but for 2 years I couldn't find the dang Deinotherium again. So then I made an executive decision: No more mammals! So off to ebay they all went.
BTW, the Safari Woolly Mammoth is by far the best. For just $9 it looks like it just walked out of a Burian or Knight painting, doesn't it???
;D

LoL. Anti-Mammite. Safari's Prehistoric Life line seems pretty good - they're still available through all the regular outlets, and aren't super expensive.

Miracles do happen ;D

d**n, Boki...
Anyone who needs a Bullyland Andrewsarchus should PM me. I'm particularly interested in trading for Chalicotherium, Megatherium, and Deinotherium. I'll also have a small handful of Bullyland Diatryma.

Yah mean the 49 other Yowies from Set 1 are something worthwhile? I got a pretty good deal on the whole set in order to get a couple of the figures (the pterosaur, ichythosaur, the greondalpis (or something like that primative fish), and the trilobite). My duaghter thinks the mammals are cute.

I just dropped a C-note on lactaters. Good thing I'm teaching summer school....
Couldn't hunt down a cheap chalicotherium or arsenotherium, tho.

Oooh nice stripey Dino Riders sloth! I have the non-striped version and didn't know there was another one! I was lucky enough to grab a very battered Bullyland Deinotherium about a year ago. I originally got it to resell, but it's too cool to let go of, at least for now. Should I ever need an organ transplant though... BTW what about the Missing Links line from Safari? Those things have so much vinyl to them that they could count as a weapon if you tried to take them on a plane

Some repeats here but a few not seen yet Marx: MPC including the ceratogaulus - has anyone else ever done that one? Kaiyodos: and my favorite the Yujin Henkelotherium Those big Tootsietoy ones go for a mint, kind of amazing the prices that I've seen lately. If anyone has an extra sabretooth from the Nabisco series that's the only one I'm missing and would like to get it... I keep adding stuff...if anyone is interested in the Safari ones you can get the whole group in a bag from Safari's Shopatron sales site for $39 US plus shipping item: Prehistoric Mammals 390729

Q+Where are the Ral Partha metal mammals? Not just the brontothere, but all of the large carnivores (Daphoeneus, Hyaenodon, Osteoborus, Chasmaporthetes, Megalictis, etc)?
