Yes, you read that correctly. I used the head, legs and tail from the Wild Safari figure and grafted them onto a much larger Schleich body. The tail was lenghtened a bit with wire and putty, as was the neck (note the graft of the armor onto the newly built neck. The result is a figure that is 6" long by 2.6" tall, and fits much more nicely in with my "South American Megafauna Collection" (Safari Smilodon, Schleich Macrauchenia and X-Plus Phorusrhacos) Pics:

Wow! Judging by that response, you're all speechless!

Wow, this is rather... seamless. Is it more accurate this way? I am paleontologically challenged, as you may have noticed.

Wow, this is rather... seamless. Is it more accurate this way? I am paleontologically challenged, as you may have noticed. Well of course its seamless!! I AM the Dr. Frankenstein of dino-customizers you know! Interestingly, that is exactly what Joe Laudati told me after I used his Rhedosaurus bust to create a custom Beast and the Lighthouse diorama (see my website). Got so much traffic when that went up it nearly crashed it! He was skeptical about my project to use his Rhedosaur and Sinbad Dragon busts to make custom versions of the creatures ... but I have to say he was fairly impressed. And coming from maybe the best Harryhausen critter sculptor and renowned artist like Joe, I was pleased to say the least!! Now - on to this puppy. I like customizing the little guys because its faster to do - my upcoming Columbian Mammoth will be a return to the old days of kitbashing 1/20 dinosaurs and Godzilla + Harryhausen critters, which sometimes could take a month to complete (working sleepless nights at times!!) The WS Doedicuris has a body that is much too small for the head. From that standpoint, I think the accuracy of this guy is improved 100% - ditto for the length of the tail vis-a-vis the body. The paint job was a real beyach - I almost ruined it, then recovered so its at least passable. I'm gonna have one Wooly Mammoth - area set of figures, and another South American set (which are a bit larger so do not fit together). The Primeval set is larger still and will include all manner of weird creatures. I think the only one I haven't ordered yet is the mer creature, which was not one of my faves anyhow...

I can't imagine taking a blade or something to one of my figures. It just feels wrong.
Did they make a Primeval "G-Rex" toy?

Well Dan, that's why you're just a dinosaur 'peddler' scraping by, ;D While I, OTOH, am a passionate, idiosyncratic, sometimes insufferable, ARTISTE with a VISION - and when it MOVES me, I MUST KREATE!!!!! (German accent off). Oh, and I'm just scraping by, too, right now. Life sucks, and then you die. Hows that for an uplifting thought! (German mode on) BUT IT IZ ZE ART DAT VE KREATE ZAT LIVES ON AFTER UZ!!!! FOR A THOUZAND YEARS!!! [Sarcasm alert off )

Just watched the Giganotosaur episode this morning, and blimey, was that creature inaccurate!!! At least it ate those two useless journalists so I know that sub-plot is dead.

Wow, I missed this one,too Very nice, I like it better than the original "crashed" WS figure ;D I'm amazed by how well you match the details when you add putty or what ever material it is you use to fill in gaps. You got it down till the last details ;D Hmmmm, still waiting for the Agustinia ;D ;D ;D

He might've made that Spinosaurus unduly toothy but they're both still very good, as is usual from him.

The teeth on the spino seem overall a little too big and curved but I like both.

The Giganotosaurus' head paint doesn't match well for the body, but it is indeed a very unique and well done figure.
