Here is the new primeval raptor from somebody at jptoys: I think it looks cool. It's a really good Raptor indeed...And finally,a feathered dinosaur who looks quite realistic and not like some strange chicken/lizard hybrid

Those are supposed to be feathers? "Feathers" as in birds dude, not porcupine bristles. Raptors WERE strange chicken/lizard hybrids. This is... not exactly realistic. Maybe if it were a Dilong or something, but not a raptor. I don't know where people get the idea that THAT is what feathered dinosaurs are *supposed* to look like, but it's not from fossil evidence... And yeah I know it's your opinion and blah blah blah. But there's a big difference between taking an objectively unrealistic dinosaur figure and saying "I like it because it's not realistic" and "I like it because it's more realistic." When it's not. One is personal preference, the other is just a factually incorrect statement

Maybe if it were a Dilong or something, but not a raptor. Guess again. The 'fuzz' on the Dilong wouldn't be porcupine-like at all (if it's fuzz at all, I'm guessing Xu Xing and company got carried away... again) I don't know why you guys don't like the Bullyland Velociraptor, it's exactly what it's supposed to look like according to the 'fossil' 'evidence'

Otherwise I would like it, but that weird pose...

Don't most birds have some feathers that under-devoloped on them that look like spines ? I could swear I've seen em'..where's Crazycrowman ? lol I think it looks good enough to get..the leg looks odd..but I think that's due to the joint cut really..it's low on the thigh. Personnaly I do like the Bully raptor...just haven't got to it yet... and if it came with a stand to get it airborne ..that would help the leaping pose of the sculpt..

The Bullyland thing has feathers sticking up all over the place like a scared cat. Looks nothing like the feathers of a modern bird, which is what fossils show. The Carnegie feathered dinos come fairly close, or these: www.dinofarm.com/deindin.htmlwww.dinofarm.com/vevspr.html

So here is a question for those in the original (UK) market of Primeval figures--what do these cost new in store? As I am about to hunt down my Smilodon, I want to make sure I don't get ripped off.

One is personal preference, the other is just a factually incorrect statement Not to get into semantics on an old post, but there's also a difference between saying something " looks realistic" and saying it " is realistic". I may think many of the effects in the Jurassic Park films look more realistic than Walking With Dinosaurs. On an artistic and technical level, they are more convincing, more believable. ...Which is not quite the same thing as saying they're more accurate. And yeah, this Primeval 'raptor' does happen to be a rather realistic-looking monster. ;D

As I love mine, and think it is a very neat figure, I figured I'd post some photos of it... Lots of detail. From the front. Side Ichy.... Sniffing... Calling for help. Trying to kill a parasaurolophus...

Its similar to the Resaurus toys it looks like. But much nicer than the Resaurus Raptor!

It is similar to the resaurus figures. Its tail is rubber though, and does not bend (yay) and unlike the resaurus dromaeosaurids, the sickle claw on the feet is not separate from the other toes. (It would have been nice if it was) but, instead, the feet swivel. It differs in construction some though, in having IMO, better joints, as its limbs not only move, but swivel some, and its neck can be posed as well. (Of course I would have preferred the hands to be in a more natural position, and It does seem the arms are a little low on the body and somewhat short, but, all in all, I really like this figure - I like It so much I have a second one on the way to customize, or to at least have a pair )

Oooo! I like it too!! CCM, how big is it? Can you post it with something else, like another raptor, maybe Papo's or the new WS one?
And, where can we get these figures in the US or are they only available in the UK?
BTW, does anybody know when the next season starts?
Anyway, thanks, CCM, for the pics!

^ It's hanging off the side of a JP parasaurolophus in the one photo. That should give a good idea of size - about that of the JP raptor toys from the first movie, but a little longer, with a tad more heft.
(The tin of starbucks mints is 2.5" X 2", for anyone who does not have or has not seen that para)

Using the background mint can for a last minute size comparison? Clever. ;D

Yeah, the "mints can" helped! Because, I don't own any JP toys.

How is the Bullyland Velociraptor? For some reason, she looks really cool. The Primeval Raptor is huge!
