the purple one was the stretchy one right? i'm still kicking myself for not getting those I actually missed out too--but Fran had one at the right time! And it isn't stretchy, it's a solid plastic. sbell, what's the gray liopleurodon next to the Carnegie Tylosaurus/? It's identical to the Kaiyodo lio so that's likely what it is, but it looks twice as big. Did foreshortening play a trick on me? That's a Waiphoon Liopleurodon--and yes, it look almost exactly like the Dinotale, but much larger. Like most of the good Waiphoons, it is oddly hard to find (sort of like the Stygimoloch figure, it's a big one in the right display shelf). And I thought I had done at least this, and put the shelf overviews up: Left shelf: Right Shelf: And because it turns out I have so many, modern bony fishes get a shelf of their own: Close ups of the shelves are still at the same page. picasaweb.google.com/HyenaSean/DisplaysAtHome#

sbell, very impressive! Is it possible your collection has grown again since your last publishing here?

sbell, very impressive! Is it possible your collection has grown again since your last publishing here? It might have a little--I haven't been getting much lately. It is hard, when I have most of what I currently want, so I am just waiting for next year when Safari and CollectA disrupt the harmony again (looking forward to that though!). I think the only new things since these photos are some FameMaster puzzles, the Matchobx mini dinos, and 2 skeletons from the Dawn of the Dinosaurs set (long story--I should have had them before, but now I know that the especially the Exaeretodon actually has two very different paint schemes, with two different releases). I am pretty certain that if I make any larger purchases soon, it will be for some of the Acheson figures. I've had my eye on some of those for a while.

So I am guessing that many people here have seen my display photos--maybe even from several years back, the first time? Anyway, I just spent the day packing the whole thing up. 1100 figures. Because we are in a severe flood risk right now, and with the whole collection in the basement, I am not taking chances (more with sewer backup than actual flood water). So that's depressing. Even as more comes in--I just got he Colorata Sharks DX set. They are right back in their box for now. I am still awaiting the JP3 Dinotales set--that probably won't even get opened when it arrives. And I also have a whole bunch of stuff sitting in Japan with jauce to be sent, but I think I will wait a little longer. Stupid snow. Which continues, even now, to fall. And not melt 6 weeks ago like it should have. But then, maybe I will be able to completely reorganize! It only took two years to get it close to where I wanted... All right, done whining now.

Ow, that doesn't sound fun at all. I hope all will be well and the snow stops soon. My mind boggles at the thought of it still continuing...

I can't imagine organizing so many figures! I'm already having troubles of my own, and I don't think I even have 300 yet!

It's actually snowing again right now...the next time someone here comments about how much they like snow I'm going to reach through the internet and slap them. The real problem is that we haven't warmed up much--so the snow just keeps on building.

In the meantime, if you want me to store your dino collection in Madrid, under strict security controls, i'll be happy to do it

I should update this again at some point--we lucked out and din't get flooded, but it means that I have been slow to reorganize. I think it works better now--certain ones, like Dinotales Dinosaurs and Dinotales 'everything else' get their own shelves; colorata has it's own case (the smaller one), things like that. Turns out its much easier to organize based on maker/source than taxonomically. I think there is even a shelf for most current Safari toob figures (and some other small makers). I will get pictures some day--probably after I organize the larger makers--I only just received most of the 2011 Colorata, for example. And then I will just get more again--and my wife will scowl. And I will cringe. And then the Japanese Expo ones will come (Anchiornis and Spinosaurus). And then I will save up for the cool stuff on Shapeways. And then Acheson will get its act together and release some of the cool ones I've been waiting for...it's never going to end.

I haven't been to this thread in a while--I have actually completely redone most of it! In fact, most of my large figures have ended up on a few shelves, with the majority of the shelves being filled with small, mostly Japanese, figures! And some of them are also on shelves in my office too! And some (less breakable ones) are also now on my son's shelves! The breakdown is a little less specific now, just because of space. Would like to see it. I think mine is one-tenth the size of yours, so I'll try to follow your original design and it should work out... maybe! Dying to see your new collection photos soon!
