Lovely!
...What's with the Dutch under your avatar? Nothing wrong with it but, like, you're German.

Lovely! ...What's with the Dutch under your avatar? Nothing wrong with it but, like, you're German. Thanks, Marc! True, but on the other hand I never understood any aversions between Dutch and German people. No, in fact my Greek is too bad so I chose Dutch... ;D

True, but on the other hand I never understood any aversions between Dutch and German people. Oh no, I wasn't referring to that. Any 'aversions' are long in the past as far as I'm aware - their bicycles were returned a long time ago, after all. *collective groan* It just seemed a bit...odd. Maybe I should stick some Dutch under my avatar too, along with my Twitter username.

Awesome! Still my favourite mammal model by Sean Cooper. You did a great job on the eye, Andre . Dutch sounds funny to us Germans because it's very similar to our language, just cuter. As a rock musician I was very schocked when I read what's written on their cigarette packets: 'Roken is dodelijk' or 'Rokers sterven jonger' ;D.

Dutch sounds funny to us Germans because it's very similar to our language, just cuter. I inevitably end up comparing it with German, because German is what I learned at school. (But please don't ask me to speak it. ) The similarities are handy when trying to read it (and of course both languages are similar to English in many ways, as it is a Germanic-based language), but they sound rather different when spoken.

You ought to see the images on some Thai cigarette packets, never mind what's written there. ;D (I should add I realise you were referring to the puns, but my mind just leaped to the literal things...) Beautiful Platybelodon, Dr. Andre! I've just seen your Krentz Giganotosaurus too; wonderful!

As a rock musician I was very schocked when I read what's written on their cigarette packets: 'Roken is dodelijk' or 'Rokers sterven jonger' ;D. Thanks again, Helge! Yes, it's an excellent sculpt although I would have expected you'd probably like your Brontotherium more (BTW: is it really much larger than the others?). Oh, I was just thinking about - doesn't this "Forever 27" club contain more rock musicians than others? Well, probably this would also require a proper definition of what is to be considered rock and what's not. On the other hand there are quite some rock musicians who don't seem to have aged that much for a few decades or so, so I think there is no need to worry. ;D I inevitably end up comparing it with German, because German is what I learned at school. (But please don't ask me to speak it. ) The similarities are handy when trying to read it (and of course both languages are similar to English in many ways, as it is a Germanic-based language), but they sound rather different when spoken. Exactly. I can hardly understand a word spoken in Dutch but it's not much of a problem to read books in Dutch for me since the written languages are so similar. Edit: Oh, and of course many thanks to Niroot, too!

........... "Forever 27" club .......... what is to be considered rock and what's not. .......... Forever 27 club? Believe it or not, I had to google that ;D. Hm, I see ...... nothing out of the ordinary. Suicidal tendencies - very typical for people of that age, not only musicians. Yeah, what's Rock? Frank Zappa? Motörhead? Carl Perkins? Ricky King ;D? It's a wide range! Thanks again, Helge! Yes, it's an excellent sculpt although I would have expected you'd probably like your Brontotherium more (BTW: is it really much larger than the others?). You're right - it's hard to say which one's the more beautifully sculpted . The Brontotherium is slightly larger than the Platybelodon. It seems a bit too small in this pic because of the angle.

Oh, belated thanks to Helge and boki! Hmm, actually the Brontotherium doesn't seem that huge compared with the others, even when I take the angle into account the Moa (which I have, too) next to it gives a good comparison. So it seems to be similar in size to the Uintatherium (albeit probably more massive) which is also slightly larger than the Platybelodon. I'm still undecided but I'll certainly get more Paleocraft models, eventually. Up next will be Battle_Brak Chirostenotes, almost done!

Many thanks, Niroot and Marc! It didn't turn out that gaudy as I originally intended (well, the original is) but in the end I'm moderately pleased with the result.

Wow, beautifully done! The more I look at how you and coper painted this figure, the more I want to get one for myself. I love the tiny details on the wing/arms, looks really nice

Thanks again, boki! So the last days I've found some time to paint some further shapeways models... Brachylophosaurus (large, hollow) by Angie Rodrigues ("White, Strong & Flexible"). Edmontosaurus "1/144" by David Krentz ("Transparent Detail"). Ekrixinatosaurus "1/72" and "1/144" by David Krentz ("Frosted Ultra Detail").
