They didn't come in egg soap did they ? I've only seen one translucent plesiosaur that I can remember and it was sold as a loch ness monster in egg soap...there also dinosaurs and dragons. Not knowing how old you are..these guys came out early 90's I think ?
Maybe your mom might recall where you got them...? I would hazard to guess the best place to look for more would be back in Chiang Mai where you prob got the first ones. Rummage sales and antique stores there would be good places to check.
Sorry for being so obsessed..lol I just enjoy the hunt . ;D

Hehe, I rather doubt my mother would remember. I don't think they came with egg soaps, they were more likely to have been bought from a random market stall - oh, and this would have been around 1987 or something (my age is in my profile, by the way ;D).

Ah, some don't bother to list an age so I didn't check..lol We're only about a year apart..so that gives a little more common ground to stand on then eh ? ;D There wouldn't be any photos of you with them anywhere ? I've discovered several toys I had forgot about due to my mom's photo ops.

Haha, given that my knowledge about dinosaur collectibles and their history is so poor (a significant portion of which has only recently been furnished since joining this forum a few weeks ago), I don't know if I can pretend to much ground to begin with. But I very much look forward to continue learning. ;D No photographs with little dinosaurs that I can recall, I'm afraid...

My first Dino toys were Invicta Triceratops and Megalosaurus. My life-long obsession began there.

I had a green chinasaur. It might've been a Tyrannosaurus, but I'm not sure. It had a tripod posture, teeth like a zip, lime green coloured body... I also had tons of JP toys as well. The "Rexford" model, Stego, Dilophosaurus and raptors. I had the "baby" JP trex that I got at a car boot sale, and it's feet were all chewed up (most likely from the previous owner's dog)

My mom just gave me this last night. I remember it clearly - me, a mere eight years old, taking a walk in the Mt Hood forest with my trusty Jurassic Park juvenile Tyrannosaur in hand... when I look down to admire him once more, and his dino damage is gone!! OH NO. My loving parents scoured the gravel road for half a mile, looking for the poor, lost dino damage... but to no avail. But my mom saved the day! Later that week, she mailed Hasbro asking for a replacement! They ended up sending two, and mom gave me the envelope containing the extra last night. Here it is: (dated 1994!)

I used to have a Chinasaur Stego that looked almost exactly like that one, back in the day...although mine didn't have a sweater...

Great thread, brings back memories when I were a lad (best Monty Python Yorkshireman voice).....
The first dinosaur model I remember seeing was the Pyro Stegosaurus which had a great cave man chucking a rock at it - this was built by an older brother but wasn't mine (sigh).
Then when I was about six (could have been my birthday, can't remember too clearly) my mum took me to the toyshop and got me the Aurora Sabre tooth tiger and I was hooked there after. My first actual dinosaur was the Invicta Scelidosaurus on a trip to the London Natural History Museum, must have been 1974.
After that I used to save my pocket money up to collect the Auroras and I had a mate up the road who did too, we must have had all of them between us. I remember asking my parents for the Triceratops for Christmas and sneakily seeing it hidden away in their wardrobe some weeks before - don't know how I managed to keep quiet!
I think this is probably why we all love our dinos, they take us back to those magical times and of course, they're still bloody cool now!

Especially now that we know they aren't all extinct after all...(Unless you think they are. Just sticking this in to avoid off-topic ranting.)
