Just to get back on topic in this thread, am I the only one who thinks this figure looks somewhat like the ROM lambeo?

Here are six hadrosaurs, similar in style and size: From left to right, from top to bottom: Procon Olorotitan, Invicta Lambeosaurus, ROM Lambeosaurus, CollectA Lambeosaurus, ROM Parasaurolophus and Basel Tsintaosaurus

Now I know two forum members with this strange Tsintaosaurus by now. Do others have it, too? It recently showed up on ebay. Or did someone even write to that Basel museum? Come on, how popular did this fellow become over the last two years?

So there are three lucky owners of Invicta - style Tsintao by now? Yes, Mrs Müller probably will be happy about chocolate. Hope it won´t melt at these high temperatures we have on the continent at the moment...

More to the point, lets hope our beloved figures don't melt .................... hope none are on window ledges. Especially not Invicta's ................ sunshine and heat turns em brittle

I also wrotte Mrs. Müller asking for the shipping price to Spain. I think I might like to add this guy to my retro dinos. From what mrs Müller told you, Libra, apparently this figure was sculpted only 15 years ago, that's 1995... It's really odd that a museum sculpted a so retro animal, isn't it? Dragging tail and all... Didn't mrs Müller gave you any explanation about this? Is the Basel museum full of tai-dragging skeletons or something?

It was a special feature figure that was released on occasion of a special exhibition about "Chinese dinosaurs". And don't underestimate how quickly scientific research went on over the last two decades. In 1995 tail draggers weren't that uncommon.

Still Basel Tsintaosaurus seems to be popular around here - sbell has one now and another appreciated member is also looking for one. Maybe some of our new members are interested, too? That´s why I refreshed this thread.

I was wondering how I could get one. Maybe in November or December as a Christmas gift.

I was wondering how I could get one. Maybe in November or December as a Christmas gift. I do believe a few US members have received them by just contacting the museum. I received mine in a trade with Mnemosaurus--she wanted the WwD Leallynasaura, and I figured out that, being in Europe, she could probably get the Tsintao more easily, so she had two sent to her (might as well get one for herself!) and mailed me mine. Of course, knowing that, 15 years on, they are still unloading these things makes me a little more wary of producing an exclusive figure here. Having that kind of inventory for so long would be a pain.
