I must say I'm disappointed . These new 'museum models' are of poor quality and don't have much in common with the Kaiyodo Museumfigures as mentioned in this thread's subject.

These models are about the same quality and material as the 2009 models. If you don't want me to post them here, let me know and I'll start a separate thread for them.

It's just my very own opinion! (BTW: I fell the same for the 2009 models. I just love the Guanlong.)But I should change the thread's subject.

Excellent choice! I think these current models are made by Takara, I have no idea who made the 2009 or 2010 models, I don't think it was Kaiyodo. Anyway, do you have the 2009 Guanlong? I'm still looking for that, as well as the Gigantoraptor and Edmontosaurus. I have the other three. Anyone willing to trade, please let me know! I have for trade the Playvisions Eobasilus, among others! Meanwhile, here are the 2009 and 2011 Spinosaurs, approximately equal size and quality (except, you know one just caught a lobe-finned fish ), your opinion may vary.

Well, it's a changing world, and many people have less disposable income than a decade ago. I doubt we'll be seeing the likes of the Kaiyodo Museum Line resin models again, I think it wouldn't be profitable, so we're stuck with these plastic models, which really aren't that bad. They are interesting enough, IMHO, even if not resin-quality. Stay tuned for the next installments. Last year's models were cool, but expensive, and I doubt they sold well (?). Regardless, I'm happy to have them.

Does anyone know where to buy them loose? I love the anhiornis. Dino Expo in Japan? ;D They won't come 'loose' because they are only sold at that one venue. Clawmark Toys has (had?) some sets, or there might still be some on Japanese auction sites, but that's about it.

Okay, I missed a couple days so I'm just gonna post the rest of them. Here's your standard Allosaurus and Stego - nothing to write home about, nothing too awful either. The stego has a little throat pouch, the allo is a drama queen. The Trike has a nice dynamic pose, actually. It would make a good companion piece to the Safari Sue set, just need to putty up some seam lines. Finally here is the little jewel of the set, the Anchiornis, with the color set recently determined by fossil evidence. This was a tiny dino, so this model is something like 1:4 or 1:5 scale. All of the figures are removable from their bases. There is also a Tyranno skeleton in a crouching pose, but I need to glue it for it to stay together, so maybe in a day or two. ;D

I'm glad to be expecting the Anchiornis and Spinosaurus, but I have to say that, from these photos, they are not up to the level of Kaiyodo (I don't think I'm the first to say that).
But at least someone is making them--I know that Tomy Takara has a lot of great lines right now, and we should all hope that they feel the need to make a whole bunch of sets. The good news is that most of their sets are 5-6 figures. The bad news is that those sets can be hard to find, and expensive when you do find them!

Makes you wonder what else came out that year; I seem to recall that otherwise, nothing was known for the 2007-2008 year.
