Hey Tyrannax! Good to see you! Well, truly there are real pros on here now and I'm not complaining at all. I am constantly amazed by the talent this board draws. (No pun intended, hehe!) As far as mediums, I agree with Sepp. It should stay in the fine arts area of drawing and painting. But, that can also be broken down into different mediums one could use: pen, pencil, colored pencil, ink, marker, chalk, watercolor, acrylic, oil... You get the idea. ;D I also like the idea of choosing our own subject. That would also make it more interesting for viewing purposes. As far as the first place prize, don't know if this would work, but maybe the winner could have his or her choice of one of the other original entries. That would mean that all of us who enter would have to agree to take the chance of perhaps donating our work if the winner likes it. Hmmm? I don't know? What do you think???

Folks, before you all get your hopes up, I'm sorry to report that I'm not going to host a DTF drawing contest, at least not any time soon. To do these contests properly and professionally requires a lot more time and effort than one might expect, and there are many issues to consider, especially in a drawing contest, to ensure it is fair, fun, and runs smoothly. I think one DTF contest a year (the diorama contest) will suffice for now. Thanks for understanding!

No problem, Adam. I think we were all just hypothetically speaking to see what interest there was and what possible ideas people had when and if we would have one. And, by the responses, it looks like there is positive interest in having one when you feel the time is right. ;D

We understand. It's no problem boss. I think we're all exhausted from the dioramas anyway! Besides, every member on the forum is talented. We don't need a contest to display that, do we? Sure it'd be fun, but there's no need to add more responsibility (and possibly as a result, stress) if Adam already has quite a bit on his plate. Still, like I've said, I'd love to help anyway I can if you ever feel up to it. I think it's safe to say the members will always be happy to participate as well!
There's no need to rush into it. I think we all need a rest anyway.

Perhaps it might be an idea if (whenever it takes place) an initial contest was held without any prizes and entirely for fun; this might relieve it of some pressure and encourage more people to enter?

Maybe then even I could take part?! ;D

But of course! Everyone with even a remote interest should be encouraged to take part! No belittling of your skills, if you please!

WANT If there was a drawing contest I'd enter. I like to think of myself as a good drawer, when I focus on a drawing for more than a minute! Short attention span huh!? Very. I just can't sit there for half an hour and draw something. I can draw for half an hour; it just needs to be many different drawings...

Well, I don't have a short attention span, I ust never seem to get things spot on. I think now I have more screwed-up paper balls around my room than actual finished drawings!

Guys, I love the idea cuz i've been drawing dino's for 15 years and many people tell me that i draw very well, so i'd like to join.If there's someone who can make that contest i'd be very happy.I don't think it will be hard.We can post our drawings and vote. And the one who has the most votes wins a new upcoming PAPO model. That's my advice
