They're apes, not monkeys! ;D Their more then just apes! They're walking upright, their using primitive tools. These are the early humans.

After years of searching, I finally found the Battat Acrocanthosaurus to complete my Battat collection (in terms of genera)!! ;D Plus I got the 3rd version of the T. rex and the tail-down version of the Ceratosaurus! Now I have every variant of every figure except for the mini rex and the snowshoe rex!

Finally some new things! First, a Shapeways order: Those are the Razh00 Sivatherium, Metoposaurus (red), Hyneria and Vancleavea (Indigo--looks more purple although it photographs more bluish); and the Krentz Bistahieversor. Next, all from Japan: Dinosaur Expo 2009 Mamenchisaurus and Edmontosaurus. If I could just find the Guanlong I'd be happy. And weird thing, although they are attached permanently to their bases, they both came with supporting acrylic rods in two lengths, and the bases both have holes for said rods. Not quite sure why, but the rods will probably find some other use someday. Dinosaur Expo 2004 Szechuanosaurus and Chuanjiesaurus. Of the figures in that set, these were the ones I wanted the most. And unlike the 2009 figures, these are officially Kaiyodo. Anyone know who made the 2009 set? And finally: So, not prehistoric (although some have a pretty prehistoric lineage), from Epoch we have a set of plankton figures! They came in those little glass jars, and each was in an ooze (basically the same putty/slime that's in everything). Bu that's gone now. Funny thing, I haven't been able to find them on the Epoch site, but so far that would put them at nearly ten years old, yet the putty is still pretty fresh. And most important, they do come out: There is a rabbit nickel for scale in there. they are surprisingly varied, and accurate. One funny thing, the set is old enough that there was only one English word on the entire info sheets--Plankton. Well, two. The other one was Epoch. Fortunately, the yahoo Japan seller listed them, and I was able to copy the script and Google search each one (it was a lot of effort for 10 odd plankton figures!), They are, form left to right, Amoeba, Purple Sea urchin pluteus larvae, Euglena, Paramecium, Aurelia jellyfish larvae, Vorticella, Daphnia water flea, Sea Sparkle dinoflagellate, Phoronid larvae, and Cyclops (the secret figure). I am pleased with my japanese haul, but the ridiculous Jauce costs have meant I won't be going there again for a long time. I am guessing that the extra costs may have been 3 times the auction costs when all was said and done!

Wicked haul, sbell. I especially like the Shapeways order. I got that 1/72 Bistahieversor and it's gorgeous. I wish David would release a 1/40 scale version. I'd be all up on that.

Hi sbell, if you follow the link on the 2009 expo figures boxes you'll soon get here: www.kyoryu.jp/goods/If you scroll down to the Spinosaurus picture at the bottom of the page it says "(c)CAPCOM CO., LTD. 2009". It's not a clear indication but I'm sure that they are made by Capcom. And thanks for showing the "unpacked" Epoch Plankton figures, I first saw the set in April or so and never knew if it was really worth it (you can't really tell from the auction photos) - I mean, the original BIN price isn't that much but the fees... If only I hadn't already spent so much for my last parcel...

those are really cool chicks dinodinkies. i miss my very tame pet hen who'd eat with me on the dinner table. (no, she didnt end up on the dinner table. she got stolen). im thinking of keeping fowls again but i have enough animals to take care of already (dogs, dozens of reptiles, fish, feeder animals, etc.). will post new acquisitions pics tomorrow.

Is there any way to get one, other than that Japanese auction site that I am not comfortable trying.

We wanted something more exotic but wanted to be certain they would be female so just went with the sex links. They are a lot of fun and even though they spend time outside they actually live in the house. That was my wife's idea and aside from the cage constantly needing to be cleaned they aren't too bad to deal with. No different that a similarly sized parrot I guess. My wife actually has diapers for them so they can roam the house when they cannot go outside.
