You should have seen it before they dulled down the paint. Before it was much more vibrant and much more oranges and light reds. They did this because of quality control issues but the final paint scheme is still great lets hope the production paint dosen't suck! Isn't it interesting that these companies have finally got to the point where we even need be concerned about the paint apps... heh heh We can always touch up or repaint if it does though ! ;D

Should we put the new pics on the first page of this thread? The 2010 one put images of all the upcoming releases on its first page, but currently all this one has are the Safari/Carnegie figures. It'd be convinient so we wouldn't have to scroll through the 57 pages of this thread to find images of the other companies' offerings.

I just got the news that Papo will release 3 new prehistoric figures in 2011. Two figures are already known to this forum: Styracosaurus and Smilodon.
The third new figure for this year will be a Ankylosaurus.

WOW!!!!!
Finally they picked up this creature! I always imagined how cool a Ankylosaurus by Papo would look! Let's hope it's accurate and very well painted.

It could be painted like an Invicta, I wouldn't care. There are many here who could fix the paint, I just need to see the detail...
As for Bully, dunno. Personally, no interest in another Dimetro. But, the dilopho could be interesting. I like the Wild Safari one, but it seems too...thin and bird-like, I'd like to see a slightly beefier one.

Yeah, but I'm not the kind of collector that repaints the figures, I unfortunately have neither material for that or skills. Couldn't pay for it too, so I hope that the paint scheme is cool, different, like the Styraco, not with the brown/greenish colors they always use.

I want the Krentz Edmontosaurus (and I'd like to see pictures of the Carnegie one too). Ankylosaurus sounds so well suited to Papo. I look forward to seeing it.

The third new figure for this year will be a Ankylosaurus. GREAT NEWS! I wonder... will this ankylo be "retro" or "modern"? Knowing Papo, they probably will choose the retro design -based on euoplocephalus-. That if they aren't actually be making a JP3 ankylosaurus, wich will be really really welcome btw (no model of that animal was ever made by any company, in any form... we JP collectored definitely need a JP3 ankylo!) Or maybe they are making the Disney "Dinosaur" ankylosaur-doggie???

There is another retro Ankylosaurus design, not based on Euoplocephalus but on Barnum Brown's original description (see Inpro, UKRD, WWD etc). They might go for that.

That dimetrodon color scheme seems like its been used a lot.
And the dilophosaurus I'm hoping looks better in person but I have little faith. The jaws and hands are wrong. It appears to have movable legs...and feathers. sigh

I tought that after the good Iguanodon of theirs, they would come with a good Dilopho... I was wrong The dimetro is just like a improved version of the onld one, remembers me the Chap mei one.

By me Schleich could completely end their Dinosaur line. Except from mighty Shonisaurus they never could compete with other companies... Papo for example. I just canĀ“t wait for an Ankylosaur by them!
