It's a shame about that large T.rex too. It might have been wonderful if its carriage was horizontal. Everything else about it is perfectly respectable. I dunno, look at the way the jaw is articulating with the skull, for example... OK, I didn't notice that (but I am not generally disposed to seek out faults, you know ;D ). Almost everything is respectable, then. ;D

So, it turns out that Mojo is real: www.mojofun.eu/catalogue/The rebels have stepped forward! First thought--they really didn't try to differentiate themselves much from CollectA, did they? The only one that would interest me is the reworked Tylosaurus, with the updated tail fin. And the Parasaurolophus has a nice look. But I judge companies on their hyenas. In this case, better than Papo, but nothing special. Oh, and stupid name for a company.

These Mojo figures look almost exactly like CollectA. Their Stegosaurus seems to borrow the Deluxe CollectA Stego's paint scheme, and slap it on a poor imitation of the Papo Stegosaurus. Quite a sight, that one.
Edit: And the Para is dragging its knuckles like an ape. How sad.

Guanlong's feet still looks too big ;D And what did they do to the teeth? The more I look at it, the more I'm not excited by it The others are pretty cool It's glare from flash reflecting off of the white paint on the teeth making them seem large and bulbous...

The "mojo" tylosaurus looks interesting. The rest are garbage.

Mojo:
Mojo seems to be struggling with a bad case of Dissociative Identity Disorder:
-Adult Mammoth inspired by Papo (Papo's Mammoth was inspired by Schleich) -Baby Mammoth inspired by Schleich -Tylosaurus inspired by Procon -Velociraptor inspired by Schleich -T-rex inspired by Schleich (head sculpt; a slight improvement) -Stegosaurus inspired by Papo/Schleich -Sarcosuchus inspired by Procon
In summary, I like the Sarcosuchus.

Think I'll pass on their stuff. Looks like the worst of Collecta and Schleich. Hopefully they'll improve...always good to have someone else enter the arena DINO TOY THUNDERDOME.*
* I realised how absurd 'arena' sounded.

Now, I'm trying to remember, "Mojo" was the company started by one of the artist/sculptors who left CollectA to start a line of his own? If I'm right, it looks like he simply took his same bad ideas with him! I wish they would give sizes. But, it does list that Sarcosuchus as an ExL figure. One of the problems (if not maybe the only one) with the CollectA version was he could've been bigger. And, this one here looks as good or better than the CollectA version and might be bigger. BTW, the CollectA Tylo also has a fluked tail and maybe a more interesting paint job. But, both are hideous sculpts! For the most part. I think it's a pass for me on these, at lest at this early juncture.

I guess it was a good thing for CollectA that those guys left the company, just look how much improvement the new figures has under a different sculptor/artist. The similarity of these figures to earlier CollectA is unmistakable… you would think that they could have at least made the figures to look a bit less than their predecessors. The only thing that I really found interesting are Tylo and smilodon… maybe the sarcho, although I think the original CollectA one looks better. It would be interesting to see how Mojo matures…hopefully for the better I guess CollectA could breath a sigh of relief that their newest offerings are pretty much very well received by the fickle collector community, and that there is now a new kid on the block that collector could hate ;D

Do they really care that much about us collectors? Surely their bigger concern is appealing to kids? I mean, I can imagine they care about us as a matter of pride, but not for commercial reasons.
Actually, it reminds me a lot of when I was (lightly) involved in a coaster enthusiast community. Amusement park companies really like to please the coaster enthusiasts, but ultimately the bottom line is, er, the bottom line, and most of all they want to please the public. Then again - what pleases the enthusiasts the most is most often what the public like the most. I guess the same could be true here.

Collectors are a very small percent of any toy companies market, and they are very hard to please! ;D I mean come on, any small inaccuracies in a figure, they get so much criticism ;D In fact, we should be flattered that CollectA and Safari are even paying attention to this forum

If they're widely available in the US I'd consider picking them up. I can't see them selling THAT well so I could see them becoming a bit collectible

This Mojo company hasn't impressed me so far. I would be far more impressed if their first line of figures was a little more exotic.; but of course, their still just trying to get off the ground.

This is a question for the hardcore collectors: Doesn't your inherent "itching" desire to become a completest pretty much compel you guys to collect stuff like Mojo?
