And that made it onto cooltoyreview.com? Looks more like it belongs on cheaplameknockofftoyreview.com to me. Considering that Imaginext is manufactured by Mattel and that Mattel was likewise responsible for the original Dino Riders, "knockoff" status seems a bit harsh. Why not resurrect such a brilliant idea for a new audience? If I had kids, they'd be getting these whether they want 'em or not.

Tyco was the company orig responsible for Dino Riders, now Mattel did merge with Tyco in or around 97'...but Dino-Riders was already out and done, but since they did merge..I guess you couldn't exactly call them knockoffs...maybe " poor imitations " of the original line is a better descriptive term. I honestly would have rather seen then go after older kids and make more detailed, complex figures and yes, better Dinosaurs as well. That's not to say you couldn't run out and buy these for your kids...any dino toy is a good dino toy after all.

And no, I would consider no dino toy better than an absolutely appalling dino toy.

Good news: The next wave of Safari releases will be hitting US shores next week.
Not so good news: All remaining Safari items aren't expected to arrive until April at the earliest.

Still haven't got any of the 2011 figures, I like to wait til quite a few stock up so shipping is cheaper.

Yep. I'm waiting on that Papo Styrac. If enough Safari toys hit next week I may pull the trigger.

I don't think so. The sail's the wrong shape. (Presuming the Wiki image is accurate of course - I am inclined to trust Dmitry Bogdanov, his work's of an excellent standard.)

So what's in the next wave of Safari releases?

The next wave from Safari includes:
Edmontosaurus Prehistoric Shark Toob Prehistoric Landscapes Flora
Technically the flora was released a little while ago, but that's everything from Safari for a while. Next release should be CollectA's first wave.

You can't just drop a tidbit like that without details, especially when you KNOW we're gonna ask. *sigh* All right, I'll do it: Which are the CollectA first wave figures, and when do you estimate they will arrive?

No tease intended, I posted the Wave 1 CollectA list in my classifieds thread over a month ago.
Alamosaurus Ampelosaurus Attenborosaurus Hatzegopteryx Irritator Kelenken Lourinhanosaurus Rhomaleosaurus
Edit: And this should be in the US around February/March.
