Hello I've been browsing the blog and forum recently as I've been getting back into dinosaur figures, so thought I would say hello.
I'm living in London and have been noticing how few dinosaur models seem to be stocked in the toy shops here, I've been in Toysrus, the famous Hamley's in the city centre, Early Learning Centre and a couple of smaller independent shops and so far all have only stocked Schleich which is a bit disappointing as they have quite a small range and I have better versions I think of all the ones they do (except maybe Allosaurus I only have the original Safari, although Schleich's is not the best, everyone on here seems to love the Papo). Also the Natural History Museum shop only has their official Toyway models which aren't great and again all are species I already have (except the Kentrosaurus that comes with the diplodocus, but I think I'd rather get the Wild Safari).
I know I can get everything on the internet and I probably will but it would be nice to walk into a toy shop somewhere and see a few Safari's or even CollectAs sitting on the shelf (seems weird that they are not in the UK toy shops being a British company). I'm sure there must be somewhere out there in the whole of London that does dinosaur models, especially as I have read posts from a lot of Americans on here talking about how they find safaris etc. in their local toy shops quite easily when they live in much smaller places. Is there anyone else on here from London or elsewhere in the UK who knows a good place to go?
Any way I'm excited to start getting some new figures as it's been a while and there are lots of new ones out there. I'm mostly looking to have a figure for every dinosaur / ancient reptile featured in my Sainsbury's Book of Dinosaurs from when I was very small - still looking for an ornitholestes amongst others. Also I'm planning on making a big online database about model dinosaurs, there's a few useful sites out there I guess I'm just looking to add to it.
