Not to worry Rubicon, I have a photo session coming up involving my sauropod collection and I will make sure to post it so you can see how he compares with the rest of the big guys. Yap, that is a Procon liopleurodon (the most popular figure in the set) who happens to be the only marine reptile released this year. I wish they released him as one of the deluxe version instead of the ankylo, can you imagine how cool that would have been? A really big Lioplero! 2008 is the year of the Allo with 3 figure and spino with 2. I have to say that I'm starting to really like the new Schleich Spino the more I look at him (and I'm not a big fan). He have this really subtle charm to him that really grows on you, you have to see it understand. The Brachi have this really dark circle in his eyes that makes him look like he has a black eyes! Maybe he got in a fight with big Al I really hope that more marine reptile and some mammal will be released next year, this years is not the best for both groups.

I'm rather tempted to order one from TGF Toys, although my local brick and mortar store will probably be stocking these within a month.

When Procon released this years line, the individual Liopleurodon figure was the first to sell out. Everywhere I looked it was sold out or pre-order. I had to finally order the entire set from the dinosaur farm to get him. Thanks to the very successful WWD show, liopleurodon is now a household name. Procon's line this year were mostly obscure and unfamiliar dinosaurs to many, so the Liopleurodon really stood out as the most familiar of the group. That's my humble opinion.

C'mon you guys, Becklespinax is based on very...very few remains! Why make a figure of a dinosaur you simply can't reconstruct accurately in the first place? It's the reason why Procon's Spinax is so ugly. Too much liberty. I would have just done a poekilopleuron with a short sailback like Acrocanthosaurus.

I own none of these. I may pick up the WS Stegosaurus and Oviraptor, but the rest just don't fit into any category I need.

Too bad. The new triceratops is really nice, maybe better than Papo's. The Allosaurus is one of the best, sculpt wise. He is a bit small, but the details on his skull are great. the stego is wonderful as well, but, as some may recall, I don't get to see it in person until X-Mas. mumble grumble. The oviraptor is great and horrible, depending on your mood when you look at it...... ;D

Yup, Dracorex was one of this year's releases as well. Thanks to Procon, there was a lot to come out in 2008--it's easy to see why some things would get missed.

The Stego, Allo, and Trike are probably my favorite figures not including all of my Rexes. I mean, I just love Wild Safari, they have such great colors and sculpts! Th 08 Tyrannosaurus though is the best! He's got some wonderful shades of green, and some awesome red eyes.
