Is there any way to search through my private messages for a keyword? I though maybe if I backed them up and searched the backup file, but I can't get the backup function to work.

there doesn't seem to be a way to search private messages with proboards...not that I can see anyway...

Who would I contact about getting a backup of my PMs? If I can get the zip backup that the forum claims to be capable of generating, that would certainly be searchable.

Oh, so I'm not the only one who cannot use the backup function? I thought it was maybe because there are too many of them (400+ at the moment). If there is still a way to backup the messages, I'd be really interested to know how.

I just tried the backup myself. When I clicked the backup button I got this message:
"From this page you can download a backup of all of your personal messages. You may only use this feature once every 30 days for your account.
Here is the process for downloading a backup of your personal messages:
Click the button at the bottom of this page labeled "Backup Personal Messages." Your account will be added to a queue for processing. The average time for backups being completed is 2 minutes. When your personal messages are done being backed up, you will receive a Personal Message in your inbox stating that your messages are ready for downloading. You have up to one (1) week to download your backup before it is removed from the server. Our records show that you have not backed up your Personal Messages within the last month, and therefore you may proceed."
So I did, and received confirmation that I would get a personal message within 2 minutes. But no message was forthcoming. I went back into the backup messages tab and now it states:
"Your backup is not yet available. You will receive a PM when your backup is complete."
So it has obviously recognised my request and now I'm waiting for the PM...perhaps in futility? Is this what happened to you both?

At least now I know it wasn't just because I had stored too many messages. Yes, I had exactly the same procedure happening when I tried to backup the messages and never received the PM that the download is ready.
