Hello from the pacific northwest! I've loved dinosaurs since the 70's, and I started out that love with all the old Aurora kits such as Dimetrodon, Styracosaurus, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Pteranadon, and of course the giant RED T-Rex with glowing eyes and teeth... I've acquired other hobbies along the way so that the intensity of my passion for paleontology has waxed and waned through the years... It definitely hit another high-point during the JP heyday of the nineties, which was when I acquired most of the Carnegie figures and ALL of the Battat dinos... Even back then I was blown away by the quality and accuracy of that line... Unfortunately, due to the waning of this particular interest during the last decade, (and my ignorance of their value to the dino-fan community in general), about a year and a half ago I gave all of my Carnegie and Battat figures to Goodwill in preparation for the limited space of my last move... You can bet that when I found out how much they're going for on e-bay over the last couple of weeks since finding this site, well let's just say I've become a bit despondent... On a more positive note, a chance encounter in a gem shop in Wallace, Idaho with some items from Dinostoreus has re-ignited my passion for this particular hobby, and inspired me to re-start my dinosaur collection... Anyway, I'm loving the toy blog, and the community here on the forum seems quite amiable. I'm looking forward to the discussions! =D

Welcome to the forum. You aren't the only one to give away their dinosaur collection, and then regret it sometime later...

Welcome to the forum. You aren't the only one to give away their dinosaur collection, and then regret it sometime later... Not by a long shot. You might however be the first to give away an entire Battat collection, that is such a tragic story.

Thanks for the welcomes! gwangi: Yeah, I'm trying not to think about it... I miss those more than anything else I've ever had dinosaur-wise... Sometimes it almost makes me want to cry... That was the ONLY Pachycephalosaur I've seen with wide enough hips...

I also gave almost all of my childhood dinosaur collection away, and regret it.
