Oops, I meant the deluxe Agustinia.

I received the Kelenken last Monday. If we except the femurs that appear too short (which result in the legs being attached too far to the back), the rest of the figure is incredibly accurate to me. As a matter of fact, I recorded a TV program that talked about Terror Birds and the 3-D Kelenken on the screen was resembling my figure a lot. So, it's proof to me that CollectA Kelenken is a rather accurate figure.

So, it's prrof to me that CollectA Kelenken is a rather accurate figure. I really like it. Obviously they made a few compromises with the legs and feet in order to get it to stand (or stand for a while, anyway) without a base/support, but it's one of the best Collecta models for my money. Although I liked the colour scheme a lot more before I learned that they nicked it from a CG model appearing in various books.

I discovered that the Bullyland green Archeopteryx has also been taken from a book illustration: I know it because I have that book at home!

Yea, but the stego still feels...err..clunky. The feet are awfully rough, and the head is too big. How about their Orolotitan? It seems pretty neat....and the Psittaco is kinda nice..

The Muttaburrasaurus isn't bad, but the Olorotitan isboth quite accurate and truly beautiful. Considering it's one of their earlier models, it's all the more impressive!

And what about the Styracosaurus? OK, it's not as original as the agustinia (who else than CollecTa represented an agustinia?), but it seems very accurate to me. Especially with the original pose they gave it.

No the collecta styracosaurus is not accurate. All four feet are wrong for various reasons, the frill is too big and the horn is curved back when it should be more straight.

And what about the white Cryolophosaurus? It looks good to me.

I think it has bunny hands.

In my opinion, the only part of it that is even remotely cryolo-like is the head-crest. Otherwise, its just a generic bunny-handed theropod.

Well, it's CollectA's style: they always make roundish shapes, it's more practical, I think, for the figures being even more solid. Don't you think solidness being CollectA's main idea of those roundish shapes?

I always attributed it to poor sculpting. Collecta's stuff does tend to be very "roundish", but their cryolo wouldn't resemble a cryolo even without the rounded edges. The head is far too short, far too wide. I don't see any evidence that the artist even looked at any cryolo references to sculpt it. Then again, this is my general opinion of nearly all early Collecta stuff. My definition of a really accurate dinosaur toy is: one that could be professionally repainted, stuck on a fancy diorama base, and be able to pass as a paleo-artist resin sculpture.

Meso-Cenozoic said it best that a lot of the collectA theropods have a head similar in shape to Dino's from the flintstones.

Yes, if we exagerate their round angle even more! ;D But I still like Flintstones dinosaurs, the cereal box dinosaurs, I mean, because their basic features have been respected, and the result is easily recognisable species!

How about the second issued Standard sized Brachiosaurus? It seems decent to me, (except for the teeth which I could forgive at there size)

It's a blatant rip-off of the Kinto Favorite soft model one. The pose is quite static, and the head and neck are inaccurate.
