I was cooking the other day when I heard a crash in the other room, when I went to investigate nothing appeared to be out of order. Then one of my cats ran past me and out of the corner of my eye I noticed something on the floor, as I walked closer my heart sank as I realized what had fallen. This is what I found: I did manage to find all the main pieces that broke, it took me along time to find the smaller pieces. The tips of the claws will need to be resculpted and some paint will have to be touched up but all in all it could've be a lot worse. I'm not sure when I will get around to repairing it though because my brother just brought me over 3 of his Bowen busts that need to be fixed because his cats knocked them over and broke them. I guess it's time for me to invest in a nice display case...

Cats can be UN-predictable with Collectibles and Toys. My aunts cat almost ate my Postasuchus from Safari when I let my guard down while trying to photograph it with the cat.

Oh, no! I'm impressed you managed to find all the broken parts, even the tiny ones. If anything of mine broke here, the pieces are sure to be lost to oblivion for all eternity. It has already happened several times...
What is the model, by the way?

Yeah I love cats and we have several in the family, however they are not collectibles friendly. My parents young cats just recently knocked over my large gator skull and shattered it apart. Still trying to assemble that sucker. (BTW- Anyone have a breakaway illustration of an alligator skull?) ;D

I love cats too. One of my cats once jumped on my old display and some trees and dinos felt down. But luckely there was nothing broken. Dogs is a diffrent story here.....

I've got to say, my cat's never been a problem around my figures. Even when I plonked one right in front of him once (the WS Allosaurus as I recall), he just sniffed it, pawed it cautiously and then walked away...
It's a crying shame about that resin Allosaurus though...not to mention the gator skull!

The closest I came? In our house from a few years ago I had a room set up for my collections. Up high (due to space) I had things like Yowies and Play Visions on a balanced compartment shelf. One day my son left the door open, so the cat decided to use the shelves to climb up and get to the window. The mess was huge--shelves on the ground, figures (and Yowies pieces) everywhere. But nothing broken, fortunately.
Otherwise, he doesn't care. The dog, on the other hand, ate a chinasaur Baryonyx. Could have been worse.

Now we know how the dinosaurs went extinct...

My dog has always been really good with models. Sometimes if one of them has a particularly interesting texture he will rub his face against it like a cat but that's about the extent of it.

Never had any problems with any of my eight cats and my dinosaur figures. They do like Lego more than I would like though...

I don't know about cats but once my dog got beyond the puppy stage and had his own basket of toys. He didn't bother my stuff because he had his own stuff to chew on.

It has already happened several times... What is the model, by the way? It took at least an hour to find some of the smaller pieces but this model means a lot to me so I wasn't going to give up on finding them. The model is a Dinosaur Studio Allosaurus sculpted by Dan LoRusso. I never had any problems with my past cats, my old dog however chewed up a couple of Jurassic Park dinosaurs when she was a puppy, I believe it was a Thrasher and ironically an Allosaurus.

Luckily, I only had budgies (all deceased now) in my life. Never had any problem with my toys. But my sticker collection, OUCH! That's another story...

Oh, don't diss the guy's spelling, y'all! Except for misspelling 'Postosuchus' it's perfectly allowable. And in the case of the first spelling error, funny.

There is no dissing. All cheeky light-heartedness. And Melissa herself observed the humour of the first error just as you do.

That first one slipped, must of chose wrong word during spell check (though I agree, it makes it funny)
second one could be blamed on my keyboards stubborn reception.
