The Battat figures are truly nice figures and not just because they are rare and highly sought after. If you can see them in person, you will see that attention to details is there. They really did a good job on making sure that the figures were scientifically accurate at that time (1990"s), and they were. It remains as my favorite group: The dynamic pose, vivid colors, and species representation is still to be matched IMHO. There is many ways to look at theline and to judge it. It is interesting to note that the Battat line is the only line that was exclusively dinosaurs, no pterosaurs, marine reptiles, or mammals in the line. And that is good why? Did I say it was good? I just pointed it out that Battat was all dinosaurs....

Here is a comparison picture from my collection. Believe it or not, IMHO, I actually like the Disney Carno head the best (go on hit me in the head for saying it ). Just look at it closely, too bad the figure is very low quality. It seems to me the closest to the skull fossils I have seen online, but what do I know.... I don't even really like the species [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7307240.jpg"

It was the Rex shaped body.

Don't worry, Boki. I LIKE the disney head best too. It has the shortest snout, and the best pronounced horns.

I am in agreement with the Disney carno being my fave. I like the earlier JP one as well. I will have to get a photo of the one Disney carno I have that is a really nice sculpt, though a "cheap" figure - unlike the huge $$ electronic one.

"The Disney version over the Battat?"
Actually, yes. I like the colors of the Battat more then the Disney, but not the figure. I have a number of figures I prefer to the battats.

The Disney version over the Battat? Wow, look at all of the response since I posted the pix ;D As I have said, I don't have much of an opinion on the Carno since I'm really not a big fan of them. However, I do like the disney figures head the most, I did not say I like the whole figure better than the Battat. I like my Battat carno, this guy knows how to make a splash! ;D Honestly, I don't like the Carnegie figure at all. Something is just not right with his pose and proportion ..... (runs and hide!).

To clarify my "bad taste in carnotaurs ) Here is a comp of some of the Disney Carno figures - Here is the large electronic figure (JP soft rex size type) the one I like the most is second in size, the smaller electronic figure third, and a small color change type figure the smallest. Here is the comparison between the large figure and the smaller one I prefer to all other carnotaur "toys" (There are resin models I think are nicer then any of the "toys", but yes, I like this one over the battat) A close up of the head of the large electronic figure. (he is nice, but a tad goofy and his arms are way too long!) The one I like. This one was a mart special so I don't know anything about it other then it cost me a quarter. Its hollow plastic and jointed. Its marked with made in china and disney on it. I dislike the color scheme on it quite a bit, but think it would be a great figure for a custom paint. As I only have the one I have not wanted to paint it. That figures head.

I own all 3 of the small disney carnotaruses. The one that glows red, the electronic one, and the "Put it in water and it will change color" one. also have the plush one. They are really neat figures... OOhh and the Carnotaurus hand puppet.

;D I have now got my paint happy lil' hands on some Battats. I must amend my statement that the Battat and carnegie Carnotaurus look the same. I was SO wrong. The Battat IS way better in person. Oh yea. All Hail DinoObsessed !!!!!!
