I don't get why some people insist in having terrariums in their houses. Take this guy I know. Has 2 tortoises, 1 basilisk, a buncha cockroaches (those hissing cockroaches...last year I was hunting down P. americanas in my room when I lived in Houston. They still disgust people with common bloody sense), and his family is known to keep 10 cats and 5 dogs all at once in their house.

For a lot of people, having a lizard in their home is like having a little dinosaur.

A naturalistic terrarium can reduce stress levels.

Some people want a slice of nature in their home.

Some people want to care for animals they care about that may be in trouble in the wild-- "keeping the species alive" so to speak.

Some people want something that is easier to care for than a cat or dog (like a leopard gecko! )

Some find building terrariums a fun thing to do, and it can reduce stress. Just imagine a peaceful scene where it is lightly raining, and a male argentine frog is singing his heart out to attract a female! And you could have that scene in your very own living room.
