I finally have a room for my favourite and best stuff, so I thought I'd share the photos of the rooms. I'll try to describe what's in the photos as I go along.
I'm going to start at the East wall:
This is the wall with my Starlux figures behind glass, and my Yowies (mostly Lost Kingdoms & some Forgotten Friends), plus a few other Japan "Mystery figures" (Heart, Medicom, Uha). That drawer below used to store most of the figures, but now it's pretty much empty. There are also some FameMaster 4D puzzle figures.
A close up of the Starlux case, plus two resin pelycosaurs, a Timmee Moschops, and closer views of the Mystery figures and some Colorata modern mammals
A slightly closer shot of the Yowies shelves, which also hold a Bandai (I think) dinosaur set, and a Furuta T rex.
The first book case of larger figures. Plus two Egyptian gods.
Top shelf, mostly prehistoric carnivorous animals, with some JP figures, several Bully figures, a couple Chap Meis, a Carnegie and a WwD Postosuchus
Two next shelves, dominated by Shleich and Bullyland, with a few Dollar Store, Safari, Carnegie, etc, moderns and a few prehistorics. Plus others, the various hyenas and the AAA and Dollar store Hyaenodons being among my favourites. And the Play Visions Smilodon.
Marine stuff, including Schleich and Safari sharks & fish (& Placoderm!) plus Bullyland fish and fossil inverts, and the ROM set of Burgess animals.
Pliosaurs and mosasaur including Waiphoon, Invicta, WwD, TS Toys, Carnegie & Schleich.
Right glass display case with mainly Kaiyodo Dinotales, plus a few others. And three LotR Wargs on top. Apologies for the focus issues in these ones--lots of little things + decent zoom = difficult focus.
Close up of top two shelves. Mostly Dinotales, plus a Yujin and Furuta or two, and two Climatius figures from unknown origins.
Close up of bottom two shelves. Mostly Kaiyodo again, with Animaltales as well as Dinotales, plus a few Bandai and Furuta. On the very bottom more Mystery figures (3 "nessies" and a Thunderbird who makes a dandy Argentavis) plus two Bandai Hungry Dinos.
Centre book case, with more large figures, moderns and prehistorics
Top two shelve of centre case. Mostly modern birds and small animals form Schleich, Discover Science and Bullyand, with a few Safaris. And pterosaurs, of course, including a big Ornithocheirus (labeled Tropeognathus) from TS Toys.
Two next shelves, again mostly Schleich, Bullyand and Carnegie/Safari featuring amphibians, marine mammals, and a few Andrewsarchus (including the big Play Visions one). Also hard to see-a Nothosaur yellow and black) from an unknown maker.
Bottom shelf, featuring ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs from WwD, Schleich, ELC, Carnegie, Bully, Kinto, Procon, and Toyway.
The Left hand glass case, with more Kaiyodo Dinotales, plus four Bullyland hominoids on top. And one sort of modern hominoid made by Plastoy (a Samurai if it isn't clear).
Top two shelves of glass case, mostly dinotales from various sources, with a couple animaltales.
Bottom two shelves, mostly dinotales skulls & skeletons, plus a Kaiyodo JP3 Spinosaurus skull. Bandai dinos on the bottom, plus four WwD small figures made for the Quick fast food company in France & Belgium (maybe Germany?). Anyway, even harder to come across than the Toyway large ones as far as I know--the only time I've found them on Ebay was when I bought them on Ebay several years back. And the only WwD Rhamphorhynchus made (the others are T rex, Liopleurodon, and baby Diplodocus).
Left book case. Mostly herbivorous animals of various kinds, again dominated by Safari, Schleich and Bullyland.
Close ups of top two shelves. Mostly deer, antelope, etc, plus some JP herbivores, a Moschops, some aetosaurs and dicynodonts. The usual companies, plus two DinoRiders figures--the Placerias and the entelodon (in back behind the JP Estemennosuchus). And the Chick Yuet (dollar store) Synthetoceros in the back there on the second shelf.
Close up of third shelf. More herbivores from the usual companies, plus a Timmee Brontothere and Bison crassicornis, and two Entelodonts (AAA and Chick Yuet).
Fourth shelf from top, featuring mostly large mammals, including a lot of Bully figures, a Play Visions Eobasileus, and others from the usual companies.
The bottom shelf, featuring pretty much mammoths and elephants—mostly Shleich, some Carnegie, Bully, Papo, Invicta.
The West wall shelves, featuring primarily the large dinosaurs in my collection. And some smaller stuff, and some more 4D puzzles.
Top of right corner shelf, with Bully T rex 7 Papo Spinosaurus. Second shelf is Colorata marine fishes.
Bottom 2 shelves. Top one is Yujin “Miracle Planet” set. Some of those were later repainted as gashapon figures. Bottom one is various COG figures.
Close up of bottom shelf. There are also some mini 4D Ice Age animals there, and a Therizinosaurus from Bandai. I’m mainly including this photo because it’s the one my son decorated (I personally would have put a little less on one shelf…). And for anyone with the COG sea creatures, I found that Colorata sets come with far more pegs than they need—so I used them on the Marine Life (and Pterosaur) sets, meaning that now the figures can actually stand:
It’s especially handy that they already have holes, so that they can be mounted this way.
Left shelf, top two shelves. Safari Therizinosaurus and Bully Allosaurus. Below, Colorata Fossil Modern Fishes and Sea Turtles, plus some other Yujin turtles and arapaima
Bottom 2 shelves, with Colorata Shark and Ray set, and COG pterosaurs. Below that, JP3 dino set, plus COG T rex, Safari mini Baryonyx and Bandai Giganotosaurus.
Close up of top of middle shelf. On very top, 4D puzzles, plus Silver Dolphin prehistoric mammals. Below that, an assortment of dinosaurs (all theropods, I think) fm various companies including ELC/AAA, TS Toys, WwD, Bully, Schleich, Safari, Carnegie, Toyway, Procon, Dakin (JP) and Chap Mei.
Bottom two tiers of middle shelf, wit more dinosaurs from the same companies, plus a Waiphoon (the Stygimoloch).
The South wall, with a variety of stuff, including metal figures, Nabisco mammals, Wild Republics, Panosh, Deiner, Colorata, Kaiyodo, Play Visions, etc. Most of this stuff is smaller sized.
A glass case with all of my metal prehistorics. The majority are from the Ral Partha Beast Masters line (I have every beast from that line, plus a few other RP animals), plus a DZ Elasmotherium, A QRF phytosaur & 2 Stagonolepis, and the original Nabisco silver mammals.
The lower utility shelf with the Wild Republic prehistoric large animals (dinos & mammals) plus some Safari and Bully creepy crawlies.
Top two tiers of the glass shelf, mostly Yujin fishes and Kaiyodo marine animals
Second two tiers, featuring a lot of Play Visions (including the Prehistoric mammals and some of the prehistoric marine reptiles & 1 amphibian, the Crassigyrinus). Also the Club Earth extinct animals set, the Safari mammals small set and some UK Yowies animals.
An assortment of small, especially colorful creatures, made by Panosh, Aurora, Deiner and MPC. Also 3 Dollar Store copies of the Battle Top dinos made by Sega in Japan (obviously, removed from their tops).
So that‘s the room—I have plenty of other small animals that aren’t displayed, and the room itself needs some more decorating (I have posters waiting, and some day I’ll get them up) but for now it feels good to have everything out where it can be seen and enjoyed. And now that I look, maybe I should have broken this into a couple posts.
