So now dinonikes is making JP pieces ;D Let's hope it doesn't distract from the pure dinos ;D I don't see why you are saying this CT- you were the one who suggested I make an Ultimasaurus figure- Basically over the weekend I was at Target and they had a three pack of DVDs -the three Jurassic park movies- for ten bucks so i got it as i hadn't seen the trilogy, justthe first one. I screened them while i worked on things- i usually either have the stereo or the TV going in the background while i sculpt- i enjoyed seeing the movies and figured that I wouldn't mind making some sculpts of some of the JP versions for fun- i have been working on a 'scientific' version of a 1:1 Velociraptor in between things, and thought it would be interestingto me to do a version of the JP3 Velociraptor as well- justthe head- i have been receiving a lot of requeststo do some JP stuffand thought- why not? I work on many things at the same time CT - I paint inpressionist landscape paintings, make surrealistic three dimensional collage sculptures- do life casting projects, all while making the 'pure dinosaurs' that are part of this project- none of these projects detract from the others really- I work on things as my inspiration strikes- when i wantto sculpt 'pure dinosaurs'- i do- i don't think that the problem has been other artistic endeavers the problem the past few months affecting my output here has been my real job- when you work 10 hour days since January, work Saturdays, then have your boss kick it up to 12 hour days for months, then 90 hour weeks for the past three weeks, its sort of hard to fit in outside projects- yet i have done so as best i can- i actually have some new finished pieces- just have to figure out this new computer- to figure out how to get stuff off my camera onto this weird new apparatus - I was just gettingto understand the old one- Short reply is to not worry CT, there will still be plenty of time to work on these 'pure dinosaurs' (now that the two projects at work are finished ans i am finally back to 8 hour days starting today to be exact- the colossal squid turned out pretty dang cool if I say so myself) I really didn't mean it seriously at all, it was meant to be humorous As well as let other members know about your new project.

Sepp has one of the Rush Studios Dilophosaurus maquettes I have the mold for-it measures about 20 inches or so in length-I traded her for it and one of my Dilos- I got a self portrait she did in return- it was well worth the trade-

Hypsilophodontids! Hyppies have been way underrepresented in the figure business, they were probably common as dirt in the Jurassic and Cretaceous but these are the only figures I could come up with: Toyway and Australian Museum Leallynasaura, and Tamiya and Kaiyodo Retroclassic Hypsilophodons. Anyone know of any others? I'm not gonna count the upcoming Procon Tenontosaurus, too close to a hadrosaur... I don't think any of the major toy lines have made any? Anyway, if Malcolm could make a little group of say, Othnielia or something that would be cool - what do y'all think?

And that's about it.

i wanted to sort of check in here and let you know I haven't died or anything. i have been going through a lot of personal stuff that has kept me away, in addition to just having too much to do. I gues part of my absence was an embarrassment for getting behind in orders that members have in with me. There has been problems with the T-Rex castings that have required quite a bit of resculpting of the piece once its out of the mold, even having to resculpt the teeth on each one which is a task in itself.I guess I need to retire the piece already, and redo it better. I received quite a bit of orders for that guy and then the contest adding three more to the list- long story short those awaiting packagesfrom me rest assured they are coming, so very sorry for the delay, i am adding Ophthalmos as free bonuses to tryto make it up to those who have had waits. I hope this will be alright.. I am not really much of a business man as far as this goes, more into making these things than the marketing of them. I have been told I am foolish to sell these at these low prices consideringthe time involved, and that i shouldn't be giving away so many of them. I guess I just want them out there- hard to put into words my motivation- money is there i guess, but if that were the prime motivation i would be asking higher prices- but more it's just tryingto leave some kind of legacy before i die, my personal art just doesn't seem to get the reaction that the prehistoric stuff does- really the only success I have had in selling anything I have made has been the prehistoric stuff, my paintings and sculptures I tried selling on ebay and no one wanted them even at real cheap prices. I guess this is a sort of long and maybe depressing post- just wantedto touch base, let people know i am not a crook that disappeared with anyones money, goods will be received- once i get caught up there will be more new stuff coming, i ahve some more finished but sort of didn;t want to post them til I had sort of cleared the decks more- the tylo is done, the xipactinus is done too, ornithocheirus is just about there-

Good to hear from you,Malcolm! ;D Hope things work out ok. I have all the patience in the world as you already know ;D ;D ;D I can't wait to see all the new finished ones! Wow, so my T-rex is very collectible now! ;D I'm glad to hear that you are getting good response on the line. Collectors like us really appreciate that you are selling them at a very reasonable price. I'm a big fan of them and plan on getting them all... I just have to save up some $$ and make sure that you have some ready to go. I really can't wait to see and get the Tylo and big bad fish! ;D

Im very conflicted here. : / Words to follow:
I keep reading Malcom's posts, and his PM's that he sends me, assuring me that he is working on these figures, and is just so caught up in other projects that he has, and these are getting put on the back burner. I want to believe him, but I placed in order back in MAY, for the first 5 figures. After they didn't show up after a month, I emailed and questioned him about it, said they would go out in a week. They did not show up. PM'ed again....got the same story. There have been 2 other PMs sent with the same answer. I have documentation of the check that was sent and signed for, so I know he has received and deposited the money, so its not an issue of not receiving payment.
He has been very apologetic, and has offered reasons, but is it wrong for me to think that OVER FOUR MONTHS is an extreme wait time for these figures? Now I know that some other members have received their figures because I have seen the pics. So I'm confident that he is not trying to screw anybody over.
I however feel like the wait time has been UNACCEPTABLE. He's told us that he has been involved with other projects, well this is a "project" too, Malcolm you have people that have paid you in full for a service that you have NOT provided. I appreciate the small update like the one you posted above, however I feel like I have been lied too.
At this time I will not be purchasing any other figures from you, due to how this transaction has gone.
Im willing to give you a little bit more time Malcolm to get the items out that are still owed, before I take some other course of action.
To anybody who was thinking about getting involved in this, I will not try to dissuade you from making a purchasing decision, because honestly the figures are cool, all I will say is BUYER BEWARE.
Again I apologize for being a buzz kill on this project but I have kept my mouth shut for what I believe is ample amount of time.

nobs, while I understand your frustration, I think Malcolm would be more than happy to refund them.
(I don't really like your "send them or ELSE" attitude...)
I own two of Malcolm's figures, so he absolutely delivers on his promises, but, well....sometimes life/work get in the way of hobbies.
I didn't have a problem with waiting a bit - as soon as Xiphactinus and Leedsichthys are offered, I'll be buying them. For now I'm content to wait. He'll be ready when he's ready.

I made an order on June 21st of $150 dollars. Dinonikes told me on August 14th that my order was packed and ready to go. On August 23rd he said my package would go out that week. I've received nothing. Since that time I've PM'd Dinonikes and heard nothing. If there already done whats the big deal. I didn't want to say anything but Dinonikes has all but disappeared. Also if the stuff is ready to go what is the big hangup! Still Waiting.
