What's with the karma thing? How does it work? I don't get it. Every time you get 10 Karma, Cordy pays you a dollar or comes around to your house and washes your car badly. When you get to 500, one of the moderators pays your mortgage off or buys you a life subscription to Playboy or Prehistoric Times (whichever is the cheaper). It sorts out the men from the boys apparently

Karma is just a random thing. When you see a user icon, on the left, there will be two little words in blue--exalt or smite. Exalting adds one karma point to that person, smiting takes one away. If you like someone, or they say something awesome, or if you're just bored, add a point to someone. If you are mad, or again just bored, take one away. It is totally arbitrary. I add usually as a thanks for stuff. But, I do bolster Tyrannuses, and he mine, as a sort of private game now. That is why he has 101 at the moment. I tell people I have Karma-lized him.....

You know, I suspect that is probably a good thing. The more I see, the more I learn about them, the more sure I am that I am glad I don't have to dodge any just to go get the mail......
And swimming--forget it. Those Jurassic waters were more dangerous than the land. Sheesh. And that's just the stuff we KNOW about.

Can one find out who gave karma points to them? Other than by asking around?

They are anonymous. I believe DTF can see. I do not know about the moderators.

The nature of this "karma" feature means that whoever hits the "smite" button on someone anonymously, this picture describes you: ;D

I was an admin for a proboards forum and you cannot see who gave that person karma. At least it is not in my knowledge.
