The more you work at it the better you'll get. Maybe you should take a class.

Okay. I'll keep working. I only figure I'd quit because it gave me headache and I didn't think people would care so much. ;D I wish...too bad I don't have the time. Maybe on weekends.

Won't be long before I'm reunited with this Rex. Shall I make castes? What do you all think of me making the castes, and giving you the option of either ordering one with plain, caste color or me shipping it to Teton and giving you an optionable color scheme on your figure. ;D I say this without Teton's consent, but he is the guy for the job! ;D I figured this may be somewhat neat and flexible for members.

What the heck is "casteing"? Do you mean "casting"?

Looking great T, I can't wait! What material are you going to use for casting?

Looking great T, I can't wait! What material are you going to use for casting? Hmm..not sure. I'll need recommendation for casting material. Perhaps material that isn't going to harm a bake sculpture? The finished product, unlike dinonike's, will be solid, and not flexible anymore. I do not want to ruin it nonetheless. Thanks btw Theri!

BTW, does anyone have any idea as to how I am going to ship this to Texas? Its harder than it was when I sculpted it, but still can be flexed. My mom is in LA, but is coming home in 1 week, so I need a technique to getting this home without damage.

Trying to get around to threads I've missed tonight and I'm glad I finally came across this one. Tyrannax, you are doing one helluva job! I've only done a minimal amount of sculpting. But, I did do one major project in college of a human bust. I know how difficult it is to realize something three-dimensionally (trust me, I'm much better at creating something to look 3-dimensional on paper or canvass, than to create something that's 3-D in real-life!). You are doing a bang-up job so far. Try to be patient with it and yourself (haha!). When you feel too frustrated, just walk away from it. Sometimes you just need to refresh the little grey cells. But, definitely finish it! This is a worthwhile sculpture you've started that needs to be brought to fruition!
As far as transporting it, I would keep it right on my lap, lol! I'm sure Malcolm or Blade and some others can help you out there. I know they've packed pieces for transporting before many times.
Good luck and looking forward to future pics of your progress! ;D

Well then you have indeed felt my pain...or frustration as you pointed out. ;D I will finish her...it just takes me a long time due to being so analytical with every little thing. I will become frustrated if my Rexes scales aren't perfect! ;D That is why I love suggestions on how to make scales, etc. Dinonikes has the best idea so far, so I'll go with balsa wood when I am finished with the basic sculpt. I am thinking of balling up some spherical, rounded objects similar to the larger scales found on the side of the new Spinosaurus by Carnegie. I will then press them into the side of the body to make scales just as Carnegie did. It sounded neat to me, but what do you think? Shipping is a problem, but I need recommendations as to how to box and ship. She'll be flying home, but being a carry on sounds more dangerous when pitted against a tiny plane with 100 people. ;D
