SO who else here saw Land of the Lost this weekend? I enjoy Will Ferrel movies, but this one I went in with low expectations. I was pleased to say that it was better than what I thought it would be. Now it definately has some funny moments to it, but its not as funny as "Old School" and about on par with "Anchorman." Now for the good stuff the dino's :::SPOILERS:::::: Then animation was good. Better than Journey to the center of the Earth 3D, but not as good as JP. The list of dinos that made an appearance Grumpy of course (T-Rex) Allosaurus Raptors Compys Pteranodon A hadrosaur was mentioned......if you saw the movie you know what this is reffering too

I saw it Friday! The dinosaurs were amazing very well done! Also they really did a great job on the sleestack costumes. It was a funny movie here and there. I think they could of got someone better to play Rick Marshall than Will Ferrell. Overall a good story not as good as the original series. My vote is a 5/10. IMO To tell the truth I only went to see it because of the DInosaurs! LOL

Oh man...why in the trailers only appears the T.rex?
Raptors are feathered? Ferrell -or someone- gets eaten?

It was one of the funniest movies that my kids and I have ever seen. Ferrell is a comedic genius (and this is only the second of his films that I have seen). We howled pretty much the whole way through.
Some of my favorite lines:
"And you had to go and piss off a super-intelligent psychotic dinosaur!!"
"The only thing cooler would be if he slid down his tail like Fred Flintstone.....Man I have now lived!"
The homages to the original TV series - as well as other, more obscure references (the astronaut - from Space Odyssey 2001?), Harryhausen's Mysterious Island (the crab) were cute too.
I am praying for a sequel.
"Grumpy" easily stole the show. The look on his face when Ferrell insults him is an all-time classic. Don't insult a TRex smarter than you!!
The part where they are calmly talking in the foregrouns while "Grumpy" is dealing with the Sleestaks in the background was also hilarious - you have to watch the background action. It was hilarious.
P.S. I also correctly predicted how Ferrell would get out of Grumpy and the fact that Chaka's "ugly" women (to him) would be anything but.
All in all I give this film a 10 out of 10. A comedic classic with A+++++ quality digital dinosaurs!!

I really like the film myself..we all did... but that might not be saying much since our group was a bunch of Dino fans and one Will Ferrell fan...lol It was a fun film..I'l prob be buying it when it gets to DVD...my only complaint was : Spoilor ! They killed Alice.... On the plus side you get to see a ice cream man torn apart by Raptors..that hasn't been shown in even a JP film yet... ;D

Man, now THAT was a funny scene. And the Coelophyses fighting for the ice creams. A classic. Then there was the scene where they drink the psychedelic berry juice. Man I cried I was laughing so loud!

The movie was hilarious. I saw it on opening night. ;D Did anyone notice Grumpy nipping at Alive to keep away from the Hummer? They obviously wanted the Rex to be the dominant of the two. Their size wasn't too inaccurate either. I loved how Grumpy tore through those Sleestak in the background with little effort. However, my favorite part was when they found the massive walnut, looked through the binoculars and saw the Rex head slipping into the forest. ;D

This movie really doesn't look like anything more than a "cartoon movie" to me.... Are you kidding? The Dinosaurs in the movie look as realistic as Jurassic Park's. Its a funny movie; you need not go watch it with expectations of accuracy and scientifically correct aspects. It is supposed to be silly, but it is far from a cartoon. Why not lighten up and go see it? The Dinosaurs in the movie are truly hilarious. ;D

If you listen carefully you can hear it crash-landing at the cave mouth. It was THROWN there by "Grumpy" in reply to Ferrell's earlier insult.

Another classic line:
"Man - you got DUKED by a dinosaur?"

Actually I think after hearing his brain is the size of a walnut so many times..Grumpy hand-wrapped and delivered the walnut to them as proof he wasn't so stupid....the crashing sound was either him knocking on the cave to make them come look or his stomping I think.
Remember the scene from the trailors where Grumpy sneaks right up behind Ferrel and he says " he's right behind me isn't he " or something how if they don't move he can't see them... I guess they cut it from the film.

But how did the girl noticed instantly that the allo was a female? Actually I think after hearing his brain is the size of a walnut so many times..Grumpy hand-wrapped and delivered the walnut to them as proof he wasn't so stupid....the crashing sound was either him knocking on the cave to make them come look or his stomping I think. I guess they cut it from the film. I was thinking about that too, I wonder what else got cut. That scene looks like it was made exclusively for the promo trailers, since its like he is asking directly to spectators. Like, for instance, the promo scenes of Scrat, the squirrel of Ice Age movies.
