Those cannot possibly be Kaiyodo made--I would venture Bandai (based on the base for the Mapusaurus). That said, if anyone can get me all three, I'd probably pay more than is reasonable (I've just never gotten into the Japanese auction proxy thing). Yeah if it's Kaiyodo, somebody in their quality control department must have fallen asleep on the job ;D. Doesn't look like they come up very often, but there's a Cryolophosaurus from the same set available at the moment: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/125096049Given that none of the materials--papers, figures, boxes--have the word 'Kaiyodo' on them, I would hazard the guess that these are not from them--it looks like a lesser company was contracted to produce these ones. As it is, if these are Kaiyodo, it is the first time I did not immediately think i need to get them--I mean, it would be nice, but they are not exactly up to the standard I would expect (heck, they don't reach the Kabaya/Yujin/Bandai standard).

Indeed. I think the other auction I saw must have just labeled it as Kaiyodo in order to sucker people out of their money. Let me see if I can find it... nah, no luck. Google must not have indexed it and I can't figure out how to search closed auctions on j-yahoo .

I've always thought that the Ankylosaurus would be more appropriately labeled as Euoplocephalus, and Deinonychus looks more like Velociraptor mongoliensis than what it is labeled as. I wonder if Kinto mistook some genera for close relatives somewhere along the way?

Yup, the "anlylosaurus" is indeed sculpted as an euoplacephalus. It is rather obvious. It is also an odd mistake on Kinto's part. The Desktop ankylo is much more a true ankylo, and its armor is nothing like the favorite's....hmmm.

Given the "quality", I'd say those auction figures could be Dinosaur Gallery 3, if such a thing exists...

I'm still wondering why they'd let a severely colorblind person decide the color of what's otherwise a very nice model... Yikes, that's really orange. You're going to repaint this one, right?

If you've seen any of Boki's repaints, you would know that it probably looks like how he would have painted it anyway.

I have the desktop model of that, and it is lovely, but orangeosaurus is just to trippy for my tastes.

Sure, yours can be bright - but they're never sloppy, unlike this one. Are the eyes even painted?

Of the standard thirteen (fourteen, including the two "common" Tyrannosaurid versions), I have all but the therapods. Still looking for those, and kicking myself for not latching onto them sooner. Having been burned with bipedal Battats (heck, even with quadrupedal Battats!), I was leery of balance problems and passed on the carnivores initially; my fears turned out unfounded, but by the time I realized that, my source had vanished (anyone know what became of Toyosaurus? Can't pull them up on the web any longer). Besides the two small bases for the Pteranodon and Plesiosaur (which do better traded so that the Pteranodon is posed flying over water and the Plesiosaur swimming over the rocky 'sea-bottom)', they also made four spectacular (though pricey and somewhat fragile) diorama scenes which I broke a commandment or two over (lust and covetousness, if I remember; though -- mind you -- I've never set up a graven image in my life), but never could afford. They did a wonderful job on this series, and I only wish they had persisted.

Unfortunately they have you click on the banner on each model page that routes you to a new store. At the new store is only one favorite model, which is ironically the allosaurus. Unfortunately even that one is out of stock..... But clawmark toys has the allosaurus if anyone is looking for that one. Link and pin hobbies also has a couple including one green t-rex and couple others as well. Also try dinosaur farm, but I think their supply is very limited as well. Good luck!

If you're having trouble sourcing them in the US, dinosaurtime.co.uk has the whole lot - except the Orange-O-Spino. Which by the way would look a LOT better if Boki painted it. I know his stuff can be wild, but that's the whole point! ;D

I've been trying to buy them up from Dinosaurtime, but naturally can only do so a little at a time. Let us hope they have plenty in stock. ;D And my Goodness, do the legs in the box sets give trouble! Almost all of them are warped, and they're jolly hard to correct. They always return eventually to being crooked.
