This may blow cloverfield (More in the Godzilla line of movies, but still an alien), independence day, and war of the worlds away.

It better blow ID4 away. That one sucked. Especially the conveniant compatability of the operating software. Sooooooo stupid. I did like Cloverfield and war of the worlds. Although not sure if cloverfield was an alien. It was left kind of vague.

Although not sure if cloverfield was an alien. It was left kind of vague. Agreed. It is. Cloverfield was apparently shot from space from what I have read. The movie was okay I guess, but it gave me a headache, and I'm not a big fan of not seeing a monster, or watching someone have a party for 4 hours through camcorder. Godzilla still takes the crown in my book. No amount of super heroes (Hulk, Batman, Spiderman, etc) or aliens (Cloverfield Monster) can take that 400 foot lizard down. ;D 98's Godzilla is actually "Zilla", which is of course a more theropod-like fire-breathing lizard.

There is no doubt in my mind that Godzilla takes the crown. I have a couple old Godzilla toys my dad got me while in japan from the 70's. I enjoyed the scarcity of the monster in Cloverfeild, a new spin on the classic monster film. The other new monster film I really enjoyed was The Host. Gotta love those korean films.

My mom walked out because she was going to vomit. ;D I'm not a huge fan of it. I'd watch it again on dvd if we skipped over the pointless party. Very nice. I have a collection of Godzilla toys; nothing too special. The Host was amazing! Did you enjoy The Cave? (I think it was called at least)

The Cave? Not the Descent? Cause there were three "cave" movies that came out at the same time. One had flying bat people, one had not flying bat people, and one had grumpy old cave guy. My favorite out of those was the descent. Best story telling out of the three, and best ending.

I'd say Grumpy is an understatement. He raped that girl! I loved the decent. I'd have to say it'd be my favorite of the 3. Have you seen lake Placid? Talk about the Croc equivalent of Jaws.

Oh yea, I forgot about that part. I blocked that one cause it was terrible. Have yet to see Lake Placid but it's on my list. Huge Sci-Fi guy huh? Alright, you excited about the Princess Of Mars movie coming out? Better yet, Have you read any of the John Carter of Mars books? They are terribly dated but I hold them dear to my heart. I am ungodly excited about the movie.
Favorite Sci-fi book?

The Loch would have to be my most favored. The author also wrote Meg, which I have also read. Have you every read The Beast ?

Have not heard of a Crichton book called The Beast. You sure it was Ol' Michael? Also, just go ahead and read every Arthur C Clarke book you can get your hands on. Starting with Childhoods End. Best Scifi auther EVER.

SPOILER ALERT>>>SPOILER ALERT>>> It was a giant EEL. Mutated by HYDROCARBONS!! (like sugar) AHHH!!! SPOILER ALERT OVER>>> SPOILER ALERT OVER>>> Alten sucks. At least this book didn't feature ravenous deep, deep sea ichthyosaurs that developed gills and sonar (actual plot line from one of the meg books, believe it or not).
