Just got back from my second viewing. My friend loved it too, although the audience was so conservative tonight! Blech. Only a tiny cheer during the missile catch scene.

We only got a bunch of sad "Aw's" when he punched the father alien. However, during the Saw 6 preview someone yelled "Stop making those!" It was fun.

LoL. That means you have the best crowds ever. We didn't even have to suffer through that preview, so maybe it isn't a total loss.

lol. Took the words out of my mouth.
I think I have District 9 totally memorized now, after seeing it so many times. We should do a "Who said it?" game.

I didn't really like Hostel. I'm not really a fan of Torture films. The first Saw was good because it was clever and unique but everything spawned after that just seems to be going for extreme and disturbing torture with a plot that only serves that. A movie along those lines that is really good is Oldboy. Another fantastic addition to Korean cinema. Check it out.

I loved when the half alien guy was like to christopher, "Umm, are you slurring you clicks or something?! I could have sworn you just said THREE YEARS?!". Lol. Slurring your clicks. Classic.

Hostel doesn't even live up to its premise, it's kind of mediocre, no plot but also no real horror.

He asked him to go slower with the clicks, not if he was slurring his clicks. Don't question me, I've seen it three times.

Poor Zoidberg ;D Anyway, i've seen various trailers of this flick and, except for the design of the aliens, it seems quite crappy IMHO I mean... Again with that handheld camera gimmick?! Lame...

It really isn't lame. You have to watch the film before you judge it now. It is actually different from what we usually see. Familiar, yet exotic at the same time. Watch the film, and you will be editing your post! The cinematography is realistic, yet not nauseating like cloverfield. Plus it will often use a normal shot further into the movie. (During scenes in which "real" handheld filming would be unlikely or impossible for a person)

I didn't find clover nauseating But yeah sid, this movie... Well, it is nothing like the trailers. You really do have to see it.
