Picked my new Safari Allosaurus up at Dinosaur Farm the day it arrived. (I live within driving distance, and yes I am lucky). Yes, this one looks much better in person than the pictures (and it looks pretty cool in the pictures.) A little smaller than the previous one, balances on its tail, though without looking like a Charles Knight painting. the detail in the mold and the paint put most of the earlier Wild Safari line to shame! I am happy that this line is starting to really up the quality of their production (have you seen the new Velociraptor?).

Because nothing is more fun than getting new stuff just in time to pack it up and move.

I managed to pick up a herd (flock ?) of new Safaris this past weekend..
3 of the new smaller dinos, the Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, and Allosaur, all of which are a huge step up in detail, and IMHO, quality to a line of figures that I enjoy (though I agree on the paint wear/raptor issue, as I picked the one with the least scuffs, and it still has a few) They did not have the new dippy or the trike, so I will have to keep my eye out for those.
I think the Lou Rei Oviraptor with chicks is Excellent and was thrilled that they had that in...
I also picked up quite a few of the safari birds I was missing, Including the Dodo, Jackass Penguin (who is better looking then some of the former penguins), Goose with goslings, Domestic Turkey, and Great Horned Owl, and think they are extremely well done also. Thier new crowing Rooster beats the first one they did as well.
I got the wild republic figures as well for my birthday.

[/img] My new Wild Safari dinosaurs. I agree, Safari has come a long way in producing really beautiful new figures. The new ones from the Wild Safari line is excellently done! The modeling is just amazing (and the price, too!). I really hope that they continue to produce beautiful figures. Here in Seattle I am luck that we have Top Ten Toys store that carry a wide range of dinosaur figures (Safari, Papo, Schleich). Sadly not very many toy store stock dinosaur figures anymore, you pretty much have to get most online nowadays. Take the fun out of shopping/hunting for them figures. Hope you all enjoy the photo.
When I have lived in Calgary (Alberta, Canada) there s a store that I frequented for many years; I have gotten to know the owner so well, I always get some kind of discount, and can pretty much convince him to order almost anything (from Schleich or Safari, anyway). He has told me the same basic thing--he will maintain the Carnegie line, but is finding that dinos are not selling like they used to. He would really like a JP movie to reinvigorate dino interest again. The saddest thing is that, around the area, most stores have gone almost all Schleich (that may change now that Schleich is showing up in TRU) with little bits of Papo or Safari. The only place to find any Safari figures is Michaels stores (and not even all of those). I shouldn't have to go to a craft store looking for my figures!

Yes, the demise of small local toy store is sad. We in Seattle are fortunate to have 2 small store that stock good selection of dinosaur figures like Safari, Papo, Schleich, Bullyland. Other than that, it's online shopping, not as fun.
