I gots the wierd feathery pterosaur, the head-turned-backwards sauropod and the dimetrodon in one of the pictures. I guess you mean these VERY extrange figures, nobody appears to know the origin of these, but I'm pretty sure they came in a baggie with some TIM-MEE knock offs. Also some other extremely weird dinos were included, which looked more like creatures from some Godzilla flick than any other thing. Also, a strange creature was there, some sort of mix between a glyptodon and a chrustacean, with an elix in the tail. Years after I found a drawing of that creature in a Dungeons & Dragons bestiary, and apparently the figure was made for a roleplaying figure set or something, as also if i'm not wrong was that feathered pteranodon/archeopteryx/whatever. Strange things came in the baggies of the 80's for sure.

^ and they still surface today sometimes in wall-mart, cheap mixed dino baggies. I have seen that bird-thinger guy in orange, white, green and classic yellow.

As for the godzilla character looking things, yeah I think I had something like that too that was with these dinos. It looked like a kind of weird trachodon thing with whiskers like a catfish. White with black mouth and red eyes. He was in a sort of disturbing human like pose too. Wish I still had the thing to show you guys.

The originals were MPC & Marx knock offs by JaRu. The only real notable ones were the only original ones--Uintatherium and Macrauchenia (completely different from the MPC one).

This one, what species could be??? PLATEOSAURUS, maybe? Sbell, you mean these weird ones were MARX knock offs? This set doesn't look to me like Marx figures

^^^ He didn't say that, he said that the ones you were showing are based on JaRu, a company that produced Marx and MPC cheap copies. The knock off version of the knock off, so to speak.

Got it.
Actually the baggie was bought in Spain around the late 80's therefore it was probably a different company than JaRu, so go figure, these would be knock-offs versions of the knock-offer JaRu!
Also, no Marx or Mpc knockoffs came in the baggie with these weird dinos, but Tim-Mee knock-offs (a lot of them).
So, were those sets "weird dinos" and "Keiju eiga" sets released inside the same JaRu and Wallmart baggies in the Usa, mixed with the Marx knockoffs? I ask because I don't see them in the images of the baggies that are in internet (like cretaceous central)

OH WOW I had all of those actually!!! I just never thought they were from the same set. The green thing is the one I was refferring to just mine was painted white. But I did indeed have this whole set. The weird 2 legged armadillo, the weird scorpion thingy, the critter with the spikes and puppydog ears, the dragon thing thats sitting down with the horn on its nose....man brings back memories. Theres also one more they didn't include on that link. It had four legs and looked like it had some armor on its back with a long pointy snout. Thanks so much foxilized. Great find! Man I wish I kept those little fellas to show pictures as proof.

I never thought I'd see that bird-thingy again - used to have that when I was a kid. Referred to it as 'Archaeopteryx' back then 'cos, you know, it has feathers...

^ Yeah, me too. About that "Kaiju weird armadillo", years ago I found a drawing of it in a Dungeons&Dragons bestiary, and I inmediately recognized it. All these "Keiju" set came in the very same baggie than other more true dinosauria, least in Spain. Besides, these dinos were very strange too. Just take a look at that "plateosaurus" I posted 6 posts back: the guy stands in a very strange way, appears to me both legs were originally sculpted the same but the figure was so badly done it couldn't stand and looks like they MELTED the plastic of one leg to achieve a pose that allow it to stand. I guess they were "inspired" by Marx Plateosaurus, but is like they "copied" the figure from memory, and with lights turn off!!!!

Apparently, the spanish collection my cynognathus belongs to: was a mixture of molds from different companies. Mech for the Cynognathus and Diatryma, Panini for the tylosaurus, and some more I can't identify yet. But I did identified the pteranodon and also the triceratops; It is a knock off of the DIENER triceratops and pteranodon from the year 1981 or 1982... Very weird collection, not too much info about that Diener... But is the very same mold, even my triceratops has only 1 horn in the forehead instead of 2, just like the Diener one. It's the same mold, no doubt. Do you guys know something about those DIENER designs? What I really wanna know is if these DIENER designs were unique or were knock offs of some older company. They look familiar to me (the Tyrannosaurus also had a higly retro style, also the ankylosaurus looks fairly close to other companies, therefore I imagine they are knock offs but I really wanna know WHICH COMPANY are they ripping off...) Any sharp eye around? I have the last guy in pic one. And the first guy in pic two. ;D I would love to know the names of them.

The last green guy in the pic one is a CYNOGNATHUS, from Panini or Merch The red first dude in the pic two is a TYLOSAURS, same company.
